can anyone help my 2 17 year old daughters are travelling to la solo to compete in the asa world champioships they will be staying at the hampton inn torrance /carson what is this area like ? is it easy to get transport to the theme parks and areas of interest hope someone can give some info to ease my woories karen
 
I'm no expert on LA public transportation but as many will tell you LA is a driving town. I've rented cars immediately from the airport-I realize that they are only 17 though...

Come to think of it -I believe LA has a very good transit system-it's just that Angelenos simply PREFER not to use it...

I'm not very familiar with the Torrance/Carson end of LA but I think that Disneyland is still a good distance away-maybe an hour's drive(IF they schedule around the traffic)-

Won't the asa(?) organization put something together for them? Maybe the hotel has a shuttle?
