It is funny when you read other stories. There is no way we can put a leash on my husband. No matter what we do or where we go, he is a calamity waiting to happen. The joke at home is what is going to happen on this trip?
Last year we did Ocean City. MD and he wouldn't listen to us. Sat in the sun all day with no sun block, because as he puts it, "I already have been tanned from being out in the sun." Thick Irish head of his, can't win with him. Needless to say, his legs were severely burned and he spent three days basically in bed without being able to even move. He was crying. Going to the bathroom, was an experience. He would slide off the bed, without bending his legs, scoot on the floor to the bathroom and try to sit on a toilet without bending your knees and legs (try that and see how awkward it is), but it was a hoot to see it.
I had a digital camera and took pics of his legs and we made copies when we got home and passed them around. his friend owns a deli and we posted one up and had a contest, "If you guessed who the legs were, you won lunch." Everyone had a laugh on him and he learned his lesson. Guess what - this year he put loads of sun block on his legs and body. I think he learned his lesson.
Cranberry Juice is great. If not, always keep Cranberry tablets on hand.
