Looks or Personality

Looks for a date.

Personality for marriage!

Shrek and I are still amazed when we go out to eat! Many times we are the only couple talking to each other in the restaurant.....sad.

(Now granted, half of that conversation is making fun of the other people in the place!) :lmao:

Hey, don't knock the fun of mocking the other diners! It's the most fun part of eating out! :rotfl2:

I'd say that looks don't matter at all, but take one look at my handsome husband with his gorgeous blue eyes, and you'd all call me a liar. :rotfl2:

Eyes are a biggie for me. So is a sense of humor.

I think that it's got to be a combination of looks, personality, and chemistry. When they all match what you're looking for, WATCH OUT! It's awesome.

Which isn't to say that there is anything wrong with checking out the hotties like MonorailMan or Zeitzuege. :rolleyes1

I'm blushing now. Thanks sweetie. :)

OK guys, this isn't the Parliment house! Geesh! :sad2:

Now can we talk about that cable TV I have at work? :lmao:

ANYtime, stud! Woof!

Really!?! :sad2:

The Hose - AGAIN!
:sad2:

I know that feeling - I'm 5'8 and my other half's 6'3 and built like a rugby player!

Hah! I'm 5' 7" with a wrestler's build and DH is 6' 2" with a swimmer's build. We make a very odd couple. I like tall guys and he likes wrestlers. This works for us.

We went for looks!

We found that having a very strong physical passion for each other - and a big love of Disney - did the trick of bonding us over the years. 15 years later (we met quite young) we're married, on our 2nd home and pouring all (er, most) of our energies and resources into DVC so that we can go visit The Happiest Places on Earth together as often as we can!

Our personalities were VERY different and over the years we've learned to adapt to each other - and to improve on our respective bad points. Personalities can be changed a bit, if a person is willing and motivated.

I think that we can tell a lot about a person by their looks. Have you ever noticed that some people just look friendly? They have sweet faces and look like they are just delighted to meet you, even though they haven't yet. I find that there is also a softness about people who care about other people.

Pretty doesn't last: Smart and Kind usually do...

But on the other hand , there are folks out there like Kevin McKidd -- not classically handsome but... YOWZA!!!!!

This is too funny. Have you seen Kevin in a movie called Bedrooms and Hallways? It's a gay romp with James Purefoy who played Marc Anthony...They're both so cute.

As to MM's question....Looks. Yup, It wasn't James' big heart that first attracted me to him.....:rolleyes1

I have to say, I'm a Kevin McKidd fan myself. Something about him is very appealing. I watched Journeyman last season, pretty much just because of him, and I'm loving his work in Grey's Anatomy this season.

I want someone with good looks AND personality ... oh and after what I just went through ... someone HONEST!!

I was just curious because whenever someone I'm dating starts the "What was the first thing you noticed about me?" game, and it's their turn, it neeeeeeeever has anything to do with my looks, which makes me feel lousy.....but I guess it shouldn't. I think it's just because I've always wanted to be hot because I'm usually considered the "weird, artsy nerd".

Maybe they are just afraid of seeming shallow if they admit your looks atracted them:confused3 I often found the "artsy nerd" look attractive (yes really):goodvibes
Looks for a hook up, personality for the long haul (fortunately I lucked out with both with my guy). He makes me laugh and just thinking about him puts a smile on my face. Funny thing is that I am 6'2 and he is 5'7. I don't notice the height difference, but in photos I look like a giant! Oh well, my brother is 6'1 and his wife is 5' and they are a cute couple.:goodvibes

Yeah my DH is 6'5" and I am 5'5" I KNOW there is a huge difference but I never really noticed much. Now, DD12 is an inch taller than I am and I see how short she looks next to DH and it really hits me that i look even tinier next to him--we must look ridiculous:rotfl:

You said it Rob:thumbsup2 (on both counts, but especially the latter of the bolded remarks;))

Soulmates--this is just barely on topic for this thread but I wanted to tell you I love it when you post becuase I like to see your sig pic. You two just radiate love for each other in that photo (I can tell by looking--see that is how it is sorta kinda barely not really on topic:rotfl:) and I think it is very cool:thumbsup2

I've always LOVED the "artsy, nerdy, weird, strange, crazy" types. Especially nerdy. I call them........

A-dork-able

Feel free to use it....

Especially if they're a hairy, tattooed, goateed nerdy dork. Like my partner. :)
