I wonder what becomes of the current offers. I suppose I could try entering some of the codes in booking engines. Might want to do that before everything gets pulled down. Hmm.

Not sure how I feel about that...the books were WAY better/more useful 10-15 years ago, I guess groupon and the like watered down the market. But ugh, hated buying one from my kid's middle school, kind of a waste of time for the Halifax market. Was planning on trying out the car rental codes, though.

Please post if you have any more news, or personal experience. Hate to see my car rental codes disappear (though to be honest I can usually find something better).

We purchased the Orlando book for our Christmas trip, and planned to use another selection of the coupons on our August vacation.

I emailed a few of the vendors with whom we planned on using the coupons this summer, to ask if they would continue to honour the offers in the 2013 edition. Pirates Cove mini golf, Congo River mini golf, and Showcase of Citrus have all responded that YES, the will continue to accept the coupons despite the bankruptcy So I have faith that other places will as well.

I have applied an Entertainment Book coupon to my National car rental reservation for August as well, so I still have to follow up with them to ensure it can be used. My guess is that they will have no problem with it, as they ususally have a general public coupon widely available closer to our travel date.

Wow, this is news to me. However as you say, less places are offering them. I used to get a good Ent. rate at my hotel in Seattle I use for park & fly, but they haven't offered an Ent rate in a few years.
And the Car coupons now have restrictions that you have to return the car to the same place you pick it up from, so those are out too. We pick up the car in Ft. Lauderdale where we stay pre WDW, then return car to either CCC in WDW, or Doubletree in DTD once we check into our WDW resort.

I always buy it from my church for the fundraiser. And really I don't use it much.

Shouldn't have to worry about coupons not being honored because the companies didn't have to pay to be in the book.
Entertainment made their money by selling the book, so the companies are not 'out' anything except free advertising by the closure of the Entertainment book publisher.
