Good morning, I have been reading a lot of people's experiences with being able to get on a golf cart for the boardwalk. My dad is 86 and doesn't use a walker or a cane yet but can only walk very short distances. Can anyone tell me the current process of getting him on a cart? Do you still need to request it from guest services? Has anyone had any difficulty getting one recently? We don't have an accessible room booked but could probably get a doctor's note, if needed.

You don't need a Dr's note. They won't and can't ask you for anything. All you do is go to guest services to ask about the golf cart service (do this at least one day before) and they will tell you where the meeting point is and what time. When you go to that location they will ask who needs the cart and they may or may not allow a companion to go along with your dad. They will take your room number and add it to the list. This allows you to get on when you are returning to the ship.

We used the service in September. My 26yo had a major knee surgery in July and was still not able to fully get around without pain. Obviously, she had a big fresh scar on her knee as proof but they asked nothing and she does not look like she has any issues. They allowed me to ride with her, maybe because we went very early or there was only one other person needing a ride at that time or they were just being nice, IDK. It's my understanding that they generally don't allow a companion when it's an adult needing the ride.

Thank you. That's very helpful. My dd and I are perfectly fine walking. Did you get a return time to the ship or are there carts waiting ?

You come back whenever you want….as long as it’s before all aboard time obviously. There’s an area to the left of where the tram lets you off right before you would start to walk out to the pier. I think the sign says disability assistance or something like that. You just have to go over there and wait in the line for the golf cart. There was only a single bench to sit on which I think is a problem.
