How do I know how many points I would need for the May 7, 2004 sailing of the Disney cruise for a category 4 room with 5 people in it? I need to rent the appropriate points from someone. Anyone interested?

you are better off paying cash to Disney.

you only get a good value on points using them at DVC resorts not cruises.

IMHO, you will be better off paying cash for the cruise than renting points for it. In almost all cases, renting points only makes sense if you want to stay at one of the DVC resorts. The only exception might be if you find an owner who is having some type of "fire sale" on his/her points - and even then, better do the math!

For the May 7, 2005 Western Cruise, the first 2 adults in the cabin (cat 4) cost 366 points each.

The cost for the next 3 in the same cabin depends on their age:

For someone 13 and older, it's 189 each
For someone 6 - 12, it would be 159 points each
For anyone 3 - 5, it would be 156 points each
2 and under is 26 points each.

Best wishes -

If you can find someone to rent you points for $4/pt you my make out. Otherwise cash directly through Disney is the way to go. Also, cancellation policies are much better for cash customers.

Thanks so much to everyone who replied about using points for a cruise. I had no idea it would take so many points. Your information was very helpful.
