Looking to mix it up a little!

Yes, we've done a few character meals and they are always great. I know there is no way to convince DH to do one on this trip. He's notoriously cheap when the economy is normal ... and well you all know the state of things now. So, he will definately put up a big stink if I dare try to add any extras on. We are so typical. That's okay though, with all of the wisdom on this board I have gotten enough good ideas that will not cost much if anything.

I am so excited! Here are the things that I think we will definately do:

Identify the edible plants- Okay this isn't the most exciting of the list but it's really cool and I think an opportunity to teach. It was a great idea!

Wake Jose in the Tiki room- what kid wouldn't feel like a big shot?

Try to ride in the Lily Belle

ABSOLUTELY do musical chairs with Alice

Pilot the Mark Twain

OFCOURSE the Animation Academy, I still can't believe we have never done this!

See Crush

Hidden Mickeys and Scavenger Hunt if I can keep everyone's game face on

Feed the ducks- kids really love this no matter where you are

and do the Grizzly Play Area- surprisingly we have never even walked through it.:confused3

I am going to check into the Segway tour but as I mentioned before DH will probably, even if I was setting it up for just him, freak out if I booked it. I am just going to check the prices...

Oh, and from advice gathered elsewhere on the board we have booked the BB everyday at 4:10 just for a cookie boat. I love the BB, always have, but have only been there 2 times in my life! Never as a kid because my parents would say it was too expensive and now because DH says the same.:rotfl2: Somethings never change!! I will not be defeated though! There's always a way around it- thanks to you guys!!

There are other things that look great, incredible and thoughtful advice. You all are really lovely- taking so much time to give of yourselves to advise someone you don't know. I am very touched, and really appreciate all of you!:grouphug:

Sounds like you are on the right path with your choices! Remember the tortilla and bakery tours in DCA too.

The identifying of the edible plants in Tomorrowland never gets old for me. When you realize that all the planters in and around TL have some sort of fruit, veggie or herb in them, it becomes fun to try to name them. Last year, my friend and I were standing by one planter that had parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (or at least it looked like it)!!! (That reference may go over some folks' heads - it's from an old Simon and Garfunkel song.) There was a lemon tree somewhere, I think. There is cabbage. Just all the plants and all the trees all over TL - make sure to look closely.

In A Bug's Land, next to some of the foliage (like in front of the restrooms, for example), you can hear spontaneous 'bug sounds' coming from a speaker hidden in the plants. We heard the sounds in two different places, and it was startling at first. We heard rustling, sneezing, chewing....it was cute. So make sure that as you go through ABL, you pay extra attention to any plants you see because there may be sounds coming from behind them!! It is one of those great Disney details like the different bathroom signs around DLR that I love - and the weather vanes too!

And as you can see - we all LOVE to talk about all things Disneyland here, any chance we get. So there will never be any shortage of suggestions for you!:goodvibes :goodvibes

You have to make sure to let us know how these ideas work out!
