Hi-

I think I have gotten DH to agree to buy some points, but not until after his bonus comes in in the late fall/early winter. We want resale (BWV/BCV) and know there can be a waiting game. Could someone tell me when would be a good time to put our names in with the resale agents? Also, we are hoping to get a few rooms for a family trip the week of Halloween/2005. Do you think that will be possible considering we may not be in the 11 month window?

Thanks!

Kimber

I would wait until you have the money in hand before you call the resale agents. As far as Halloween 05 goes, it's pretty popular. I'd book a cash reservation somewhere on property. You only need to provide a 1 night deposit. Then when the DVC comes through, you can book or waitlist for what you want. I wouldn't cancel your cash reservation until you have confirmed reservations with DVC. Better safe than sorry.

We went during October of last year and it was great. The halloween party was worth every penny!!

Best of luck.

We used Pat Spell at the Timeshare Store. Highly recommend her. Prompt, courteous and knows DVC. WHen you are ready to buy, that is best time to call. Discuss what you want to do and let them assist you in finding a contract.

By the way, welcome to our little community on the DIS!

As long as you are able to call for a reservation before the 7 month window opens (in March 05), I think you will be able to get a room at the BWV for Halloween week, especially if you are willing to use the waitlist. Of course the earlier you can call, the better.

I am assuming that you do not have your heart set on a standard view or a guaranteed Boardwalk view. That is possible, but not very likely. You really need the 11 month window to be sure of getting one of those views.

Good luck on your hunt for the perfect resale!
