Looking recommendations for rental communities with a waterpark

Hello. Anyone have experience with renting a house in a community with a waterpark? I found a few in the Reunion Encore and Windsor Westside, but would like to know if there are other communities with a waterpark. Pros / Cons if you stayed at one?

We are a family of 9 (4 adults, 5 kids -7, 11, 12, 13, 14) looking to rent a house near Disney in September. We are renting cars, so shuttles, etc. are not on our wish list. My DIL would like to take a break from Disney a day or two and spend some time at the waterpark. I have looked at so many houses, but want to make sure of all of the options before we make a decision.

Thanks.

There are many options. It depends on what you really want. You stated "house", so that could limit some options that are out. You also stated waterpark. That is kind of vague. Most communities will have a pool, kids splash zone, and some have slides. Some have lazy rivers etc. I was playing around with this idea as well as we look for a place. Then, I factored in the increased cost for such a resort. Then I started thinking the reason I am staying offsite is to save money. Why pay extra every day for a waterpark at the resort when 2 extremely large parks are right there. Just head over to BB or TL for something far better than any resort would have. It would be just as relaxing to go for several hours and then back to the resort to rest for the day.

WBC (not houses) has several pools, splash area, 2 lazy rivers, and themed slide. OLR has a huge pool area at River Island. Reunion has one, but it requires bands to access (that may cost more money) and it didn't seem to elaborate. Just a huge bucket dump, some little slides, and a lazy river. Someone that has stayed there may have more info.

Like the PP said, I think the resorts with the larger "water park" areas are more condo-style/timeshares than villas - does this matter to you?

It is a bit further drive, but we rented a large house (we are a family of 7 and shared with another family of 5) in Championsgate and it had a great waterpark area-lazy river and such. They had a movie in the pool one night (on a giant inflatable screen) and there was a bar right there for food and such. It made for super fun and relaxing pool time.

I like either Championsgate or Reunion off of I-4 both about 10-15 mins to Disney, 25 min to Universal. Both have a variety of lodging options (condos, houses, hotel style rooms). We have always rented through vrbo. We always stay in a condo/townhouse. Reunion has a waterpark but its mostly geared towards young kids with lazy river, play structure and small slides. They also have 14 neighborhood pools and as a guest you are free to use any of them. So we usually just pool hop one day. Personally I think the ages of your kids will require going to an actual waterpark for it to be fun. The money you save staying offsite will more than make up for the $$ spent on one day at waterpark.

Note that not all the places in Reunion have use of the water park included... verify before you book!

The Disney water parks are fantastic... I'd go for a nice off-site rental with a pool (like Bahama Bay) and go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.
