Looking into DVC, do the maintenance fee's increase?

I see that they will run about $800-$900 a year. Will these increase or do they stay the same? I keep running over these numbers again and again, is it really a good deal? Is it worth it?

Yes they do increase about 4-5% per year. They can increase as much as 15% per year but not higher than that.

Dues pay for maintainence, property taxes, insurance and things of that nature. So as these things rise, the dues will rise.

They aren't allowed to make a profit on dues.

How often will you visit Disney? Do you really LOVE the mouse?

Yes, it's a good deal. The worst thing that will happen is that you won't buy enough points, and you'll want to go so often, or stay so long, you'll want more points. That's me. We just bought in February, and I have 3 more visits planned already this year. I want more points so I can do that every year!

4-5% Wow! I thought it was much lower. What's the history? Is there a cap on the amount. You mentioned 15%. Is that in writing?

Yes it is in writing. Last year OKW went up 9%. On average it goes up about that.

Somewhere around here there is a thread that shows what the dues have been over the last few years.

Last year 3.83 per point for SSR. This year 3.98. So that is just about 4%

Disney can not make a "profit" from dues, but ALOT of Disney contractors can be kept VERY busy doing work at well above average pay.

I have my dues deducted monthly from my checking account and don't feel a pinch at all.
