Hello All! My husband's family is attempting to plan a Disney Cruise family reunion... Unfortunately, we are at a stand still on this because the plan is to go in July of 2004. So far there are about 25 family members going.
I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this since I have yet to experience the Disney Cruise! (Sad - I know!)
Anyway.... because I am the "Disney Nut" in the family, I have been asked to coordinate the planning. If you have any suggestions on how to make this as smooth and easy as possible, I'd sure like to hear them. For starters, I'm courious to know your thoughts on Eastern Caribbean vs. Western Caribbean and with all that is offered on the ship, is it even worth taking advantage of the excursions that are offered? Any thoughts will be appreciated!! :)

Don't know if I can be a lot of help, but I'll try. Disney does offer a family reunion package that sounds like it would be perfect for your group. I would suggest that you go with one source so that everything gets linked correctly.

My personal choice would be to use Dreams Unlimited. They sponser this site and are wonderful at doing Disney cruises. We booked our cruise last May through them and also our cruise this coming May. They are an internet based agent, but I always get my answers quickly and efficiently.

As for Eastern vs. Western I can't give you a real comparrison because I don't go on the Western until May. I will offer you this however. If the reason for the cruise is the reunion and you want lots of family time (ie. you may not see everyone regularly because you are based all over) then I would suggest the Eastern. It has 3 sea days instead of 2 on the Western and sea days are a wonderful time to relax and I would think in your case to spend time with family over brunch at Palo's, or a sit down breakfast.

Hope that helps a little.

That helps alot! Thanks! I am going to contact Dreams Unlimited now... The only problem is that the summer 2004 rates are not out yet.
That's for the info.... Looks like this is going to be a fun trip to plan :)
