Haven't stayed at Windsor Hills in a couple years now. Last year we decided to give onsite a try again so DS could have a little more freedom to do his own thing. Onsite was nice in it's way but we're looking to go back to offsite this year. I remember hearing about plans to add some new features at the clubhouse at WH - a pool bar maybe? Can't recall the exact details. Could someone who has stayed there recently fill me in on what's new?

Also, the owners we've rented from at WH in the past only do 7 night rentals. We'd like to book 8 or 9 nights in either a 3 bedroom townhouse or a pool home. Any recommendations for good folks to rent from? We'd like to keep the cost below $1500 if possible.

Thanks much.:)

We just returned from there last Sunday. It was our first time staying in WH and we really liked it.
We saw a portable bar right outside the pool area but was not being used. Probably because of winter months, but would be great during summer. They do have in the store right there a couple of beer taps and several wines that you can purchase and it's just outside the pool area. They also grill sandwiches and hotdogs, fries, etc. We got sandwiches a couple times and sat by the pool for lunch.

It would be nice if there was a dedicated Windsor Hills thread like the Wyndam Bonnett Creek one. I've read various posts about certain units at WH and who you can rent from, but don't know very much about the community itself.

Can confirm the pool bar.
I was there over Christmas - There was a menu posted outside the convenience store..and the store had beer on tap as well.
I should have taken a picture...maybe in april will update;)

Here is the TIKI bar that was definitely open

The website above has a lot of nice pics. We did not use "Magical" to book...we used vacationcentralflorida.com We liked the experience so much we are going back in April.

FWIW I did see a lot of these magicalvacationhome trucks around while were were down there.

I just got back a few days ago and the one new thing I liked was they no longer have a key card to access the pool. Our last trip January 2011 I had to pay a deposit at the welcome center, I believe it was $5 or $10 for each card to use to get in the pool/game/fitness areas. This time, when I received my parking ticket, a code was printed on the ticket to access these areas. So that was nice not to have to do a deposit anymore.

I am assuming they verify that the homeowner is up to date with the association fees as you check in with the security gate and they issue you the unique code based on that information.

Do you now also use the four digit code for gym entry and entrance into the arcade area? I leave for Windsor Hills in the next two weeks and this is the first I have heard of the new system. The activity card was always a pain, expecially when I wanted to go to the gym after my walk and my husband would go to the gym first. I would end up having to wave at him from the entrance, so he could come out and let me in with the card. I finally broke down and bought two cards, just for the convenience.

I believe the pin was 6 digits and I was told it was for all areas. I only used the pool so I can't say for sure but the guard said it was for everything.

I can confirm - having just returned what littleaussie is saying.
There are no more keycards...you get a 6 digit number (or maybe 5)
and you punch in code ....no cards...no deposit..
Code is printed on your voucher. I used for all areas...arcade pool etc
