I am so excited for all of you and sad for myself. We won't be going on our yearly trip this year. I have to have a hystorectomy this summer. The end of May/first part of June is our usuall time to head HOME because I am a teacher, but I will be having my surgery then so I can have the summer to fully recover. Money also will play a part- surgery costs taking our usual Disney money. My friends just don't understand how heart breaking this is!! I'm not worried about the surgery..I know I'll feel so much better after it is over. But a year without our trip HOME.....that's what I'm having trouble with. I know this board is for celebrations, so feel free to move it, but I also knew this was the place that I would find folks that understand how sad our family is at missing our yearly trip.
Thanks for letting me pout:sad1:

I'm soooo sorry to hear that!!! I know that surgery is not fun. I've had 9 different surgeries in approx. 16 years. I am recovering from one right now.....and it's not been easy at all because I was severely sick at first then I had incision complications. My husband made me ask my doctor if I would be healed by our May trip.

Try not to be discouraged....you have the DISboard to keep you occupied! And just think....your trip next year will be even more special! Best wishes to you!

*wdwdaisy* I'm so sorry!! Could you possibly start planning a trip in 2010? It might help! My thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery!

:goodvibes
Thank you for the kind thoughts. We have started to plan and may try WL or AKL because we can save a little longer. My DH just loves PORS so trying something new may not happen.

I just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery.

My mom is sort of in your same situation. My DH and I go to WDW every year. My mom went with us last year. She had a major surgery right after the trip. It took many months to recover. In fact, she was doing really well and is still recovering in many ways.

We began to plan another trip for Aug. She was really excited for it. Due to very recent complications with her prior surgery, she will be undergoing another surgery in the next few weeks and may not be able to make the trip. She is really upset about this. I told her to just worry about recovering. We can always schedule a later trip.

I'm sorry to hear about your surgery, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Have a nice day. :)

I'm really sorry to hear you can't go this year. Lots of folks won't understand how disappointing that is, I'm sure! But we do!!!

Just try to have a very relaxing summer recovering, and think of how much better you'll feel on your next trip after having had the surgery and being in great health.

Best wishes!!

I am sorry that you are not going this year - but time flies fast - and soon your surgery will be over, you will be feeling better, and another trip will be in the works. :)

My thoughts will be with you - recover quickly.

I am so sad that you won't be able to go this year. I am a teacher as well and we are going for our first time this summer. I am having a hysterectomy right after we return. I found out that I needed one after booking our trip and told the doctor he couldn't mess with my first trip. :rotfl2:

If you are looking for someone to talk to about the surgery or anything, feel free to PM me. I am very nervous about mine as I am 32 and was hoping to have one more little one.:sad2:
