I'll be in WDW in June 2007 with my DW and kids, who will be 7 and almost 5 at the time of our visit.

I'm looking for tips to help the kids to not get totally wiped out after 1 or 2 days. Among the tips I've seen are afternoon breaks and use of a stroller (even though ths kids have generally outgrown them).

Any other ideas?

The best I could recommend is to just take your time. Do not try to fit all of it in all at once. The running around all day can kill both big and little ones. Tjhe breaks are a great idea as well.
Have a wonderful time!!

Yup i agree with the pp...breaks are SO important. Remember one of your steps is at least 2 with their little legs. You could also rent a double stroller from Disney if you feel they are getting a bit tired..my 4 almost 5 rides in the stroller in WDW..it is just WAY too much walking.

Make a plan so you are not backtracking across the parks. We usually plan what attractions we want to do and map out a plan. This is not poured in cement but it gives us an idea of where we want to be. Having an adult go ahead to get fast passess helps. We leave plenty of room for those spontaneous "magic" moments. The plan also includes breaks.
My motto is PLAn,PLAN PLAN then adapt to life!

I agree about renting the double stroller. We have not used a stroller at home for years, my kids just would never sit still in them. However, at WDW they gratefully park it in the double stroller and let us push them around. The strollers are very large and I think would accommodate your kids. They'll probably walk a lot, but when they get tired they can ride in style, in the shade.

Wish they made grown-up strollers, I'd make DH push me around all day, too!

Start walking them now and find a way to keep track.

Some people here on the Dis have averaged 9 to 12 miles a day walking during the entire week.

DD12 and I hit the parks hard for early EMH Then meet up with the rest of the family and do either the pool ( or Nap) or the water parks for some relaxation . Then hit the parks again in the evening .We get all we want done by doing this and are not standing in hot lines between 2 and 5 the most hottest times everyday.

The heat really drains you remember to keep hydrated ( free ice water from most CS places) and to go to the bathroom as well.
