I'm saddened that I don't fit into one of the demographics that they are looking for. The minute I mentioned this to friends and family everyone told me that I would be perfect. Oh well....

Just wondering if anyone that has sent in a tape has heard anything from them yet?

Does anyone know if they've picked everyone yet? Did people get phone calls or emails? Just curious to see if any other DISers made it!!

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

...but didn't make it:crazy:

Yes, they have picked and notified all of the "winners". It was a really interesting process and I was amazed how much time they spent with us and we weren't even the ones chosen - I'm talking many HOURS on the phone!

We even met the producers when we were in Epcot, of course that was by accident! We were walking through the park and they recognized us from our video!

Apparently, we made it to the very end and then they went with someone else but they called and did their best to let us down gently.

Anyway, everything we learned tells me it should be a wonderful show! I've seen the others Lightship TV has produced and they're all beautifully done.

I hope at least one of the "categories" of fans is filled by fellow DISers...SO...anyone out there get further than us????

we made it to the very end

Sorry to hear that!! What group were you applying for?

How did you find out that they notfied everyone, and do you know when they plan on airing the shows?

we were one of the last 4 for the couples (according to the guy). We spent hours on the phone too. I totally think I blew our phone interview, oh well. They were super nice so my feeling weren't hurt we weren't choosen. I like to believe we were #2 because we didn't find out until a few days ago...in my imagine they were waiting to tell us no in case the others didn't work out.

One of the "friends" choosen posts on CP alumni board I visit. She filmed yesterday and again tomorrow.

I think she flies home on Wednesday so we should have an update from her later this week.

I can't wait to see it but I will think...HEY I could have done a better job than those people.

We were in the "multi-generational" family category.

We were informed last week - the filming for our group was scheduled for today and tomorrow...I'd already put in for time off from school:crazy:

They were very tentative about air dates but hoped to be in the early fall, definitely before the end of the year...at least that's what they told me!

RadioNate and 4Mickey,

Sorry to hear you didn't get it. Someone else I know was in the couples category and said they hadnot heard anything yet. When did you guys get your "thanks but..." phone calls?

I got a call sunday 4/4. Did they get the phone interview. According to one of the people they called their top 10. Our first call was sometime around the 22th then we got a second call w/a different person around the 26th. We were called the 29th and told that a decision would be made on the 30th. We didn't hear from them so we left a message with one of the people we had talked to on the 2nd and he called back with the thanks but no thanks on sunday afternoon. I think my time line may be a little off but not too far.

I was under the impression that people who weren't given phone interviews were sent letters.

I know from talking to one of the production people that they had a really hard time w/the couple...I don't know exactly what happened but it seemed to me that something with the couple casting didn't go as planned.

My timeframe was about the same as RadioNate. I don't remember exact dates...I could probably figure them out but it depresses me too much to do so

My order of contacts was 1) intial e-mail response asking for video submission 2) 1st phone call - we played phone tag for days and finally the interview which lasted almost 2 hours!!! 3) many e-mails back and forth 3) submission via e-mail of a 10 page document highlighting our tips and tricks - should have copyrighted that one - now they'll have all my secrets for FREE!!4) the final phone interview - was told at this point final notice would be the following week 4) the rejection phone call - it was like something out of a bad movie! I teach 1st grade and never have my cell phone on during class. On this particular day, I forgot to turn it off so when it started playing "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" my students begged me to answer. I knew they were notifying winners around that time and I was just sure it was fate...WRONG!!! I was hoping to share the good news with my students but instead had to go back to a Math lesson on fractions with tears in my eyes.

Oh, well, I still don't regret entering and all my friends and family here have given me the honorary title of "Ultimate WDW fan" anyway:p

SO...to answer your question, I would think anyone that was going to receive a phone call would have by now. The last guy I talked to said the same thing RadioNate mentioned...they were only notifying the top finalists by phone.

{{{HUGS}}} 4DisneyFans!! Your post made me sad because I know what you went through... the whole process and everything ... and I feel bad. :( I'm sorry. :(

TigrL, Can you share with us a little bit about your trip and the filming?

Also, does anyone know what happened with the couple group? The person i know was in that group and had a phone interview very early on, sent in the tape, and was told later that they hadn't made a decision yet.

Nate, what group was your fiend that was filming in?

Erika~

You are so sweet to say that and I know you will make us all proud here on the DISboards.

Please give Donny and Jamie my regards...after all the phone calls, and then meeting them at Epcot, I really felt like I knew them!

One thing, I was starting to have second thoughts about giving away all our "secrets" on television - especially the ones that NO one else realizes and make our trips so much more enjoyable so be sure to save some of the tricks just for us;)

Please be sure to give us all the details when you can...I know how much they asked me to keep secret just in the interview phase so I'm sure you're bound even tighter.

They gave me most of the details for the multi-generational days of filming - I assume that's the group you won - so I know where you were staying, scheduled to do...hope you enjoyed it:sunny:

I'm ::yes:: with envy but SO happy that a fellow DISer was chosen:bounce: :bounce:

Can't wait to hear all about it!

Marla

You know... I'm really not sure what I can talk about and what I can't talk about. Nobody really said anything about keeping quiet when we finished our part. So I'm just guessing that I shouldn't say anything about anything. ;) I will say though that the entire crew was the nicest group of people you'd ever want to meet. :) They are just one big happy family and we had so much fun with them. :) It was definitely sad to say goodbye.

Dizchick73 - I saw the couple group when they were filming but didn't get a chance to meet them or talk to them. So I don't know if they are fellow DISers or what.

4MickeyFans, I can sympathize - we were one of the final groups in the multi-generational family as well - what a way to make a grown woman cry getting that final rejection call! :(

I'm glad someone from these boards was selected and I can't wait to watch them on the show!

By the way, Erika, do you know if they'll show any of the rejected groups' audition tapes on the show?

It sounds like a lot of people were in the multi-gen group, but I haven't been able to find anyone in the couples group yet. I know Radio Nate said there were some problems with that group...

The other person I know who tried for that group (couples w/o kids) got a call very early on (late Feb) and had a 2 hour+ interview. (This was before the form was even online yet). They told them to send in a tape, and when they spoke to them again a couple of weeks ago, they were told that the decision hadn't been made yet, but it was down to a few from over 300 entries. They still haven't received a call back as yet.

I agree! It would be fun to see some clips from the audition tapes!!

Nate, what group was your fiend that was filming in?

She filmed in the 3 friends group. I think she retuned home tonight.

I was told we were one of the final 4 for the couple. At least that's what I was told. I also know it took them over a week to get back to us after saying there were only 4 left.

I don't know what happened but I when I got the call he apoligized for taking so long and said "we ran into some problems with casting the couple."

I'd still love to watch the show so let us know when it airs.

RadioNate - We saw the 3 friends group shooting on Sunday, they looked like they were having fun. :) Is your friend a DISer?

jcamacam - I have no idea if they'll show anyone's audition tape... I didn't ask. It would be funny if they showed ours though it was insane!!

Tigr,

it was insane!!

Since we can't see your tape, what kind of stuff did you do in yours?? It must have been pretty impressive to get you on the show!!::yes::
