Looking for the best travel purse!!

I like Overland Equipment's Donner bag. There is a pocket in each side where the shoulder strap comes up that is big enough for a water bottle or small umbrella. Organizer front pocket and main section very decent size.

I'm also a fan - have had mine for 7 years and it's still going strong

Subscribing because I am struggling with this too. Want the convenience of a cross bag but find most extremely unattractive. Has anyone seen the baggalini Palma in person?

I LOVE Vera, but I don't recommend it for what you are looking for. They get pretty dirty and don't dry out fast, so I'd go for a "techy" fabric. I 100% recommend either a cross body or backpack. That will really help save your arms/shoulders over the course of your vacation.

Exactly, and the fabric tends to fade terribly in the sun! I use a Brighton nylon cross body that has two pockets in the front, one for my phone and one for my camera. It also has a long pocket in the back where I slide my tickets and park maps, etc. Then there's room inside for my wallet, incidentals, and snacks. It's navy, so it doesn't show any dirt. Brighton can be little more expensive, but I've used this bag on so many trips that it has definitely been worth it!

I use a LeSportsac hobo but my kids are older so I don't carry a ton of stuff. When they were smaller I used the Baggallini messenger. It fit everything I needed but it wasn't comfortable to wear at all.

Years ago I had purchased a cross body purse for our trip to NYC and loved it so thought this is what I needed for DW. But I found after a week it started digging into my shoulder, yea I'm probably a wimp, but I did love it. Now I bought a Disney World backpack that has one compartment. It is smaller than the regular backpack but a bit bigger than a childs. I bought it at the gift shop at the international gateway at Epcot. But I also purchased one of those Disney wallets, so I put IDs, gift card, and money into the wallet and the bigger things in the backpack are. DD is 23 is we don't carry much and her BF comes along with us now so we all share carrying, both backpack and wallet seem to be waterproof, and we only have to open 2 things for security checks.

I found a fantastic cross body bag at some little designer-bag knock off store in the mall. It has no name on it and isn't fancy, but it's lightweight, water resistant, tons of zippered pockets and unisex (so DH has no complaints carrying it).

I use LeSportSac Medium Weekender with Charm

Since you are looking for a travel bag and not a park bag I would suggest the Vera Bradley Miller bag. Lots of compartments and it zips so nothing flies out when it's under the seat on the plane or in the car.

After looking online today, I think I have found a winner! The site wont let me post the link, but it is the LL Bean Carry-All Tote for $49 for those who care to look it up!

I should have mentioned in my first post that I am not a fan of crossbody bags-oops! Keep on sharing those suggestions though :)

LL Bean bags have done very well for me. I use the Carry All accessory bag as my airline "purse".

Interesting I was thinking a backpack and both my DH and I can take turns if it gets heavy. Also I have a MK crossover purse for cards, cellphones and little things.

Does anyone know of any places that carry the Baggallini messenger bags? I would like to try one on before I buy it. I'm thinking it's impossible though. Right now I have a bag that is similar to the Patagonia Atom sling and I like it but it can't fit my waterbottle, Mickey headband, sunscreen, incidentals and ponchos.

eBags is offering free shipping on Baggallini. Returns are free if w/in 30 days.

For those who use the Baggallini Messenger Sling is the mesh pocket on the side large enough for a Camelbak water bottle?

I've found them at luggage stores and sometimes they have them at my local AAA. I have a Bagallini and for the most part it works well, but I am short and even though the bag adjusts it won't fit me quite right. I bought an Overland Donner bag at my local Great Outdoor Provision Store. Although it gets a little heavy if I put two water bottles in it.
