Hi,

I am going to be able to book my vacation for October 09 starting tomorrow. I am going to book a studio at the Boardwalk. I am confused as to a room request. I think that having a room overlooking the Boardwalk would be wonderful, but have read where some people complain about the noise. Would anyone have some suggestions as to what view I should request?

Thank you.

We have had all of the view types at the Boardwalk and our favorite is definitely the Boardwalk View. We have never had issues with noise. I was surprised at how little noise there was in the room, actually. When the balcony door is closed we hear almost no noise from the Boardwalk.

We tend to book Standard View, just to save points, but if we had enough points we'd do Boardwalk View on every BWV stay.

Our last two stays have been Boardwalk view, both on the 5th floor. Never had a situation with noise except one night there was a altercation outside Jelly Rolls. My family slept through it...I was up.

We normally stay in a std view room, but earlier this year, we tried the BW view room. We found that we spent much more time on our balcony and really enjoyed the vistas. The noise wasn't too bad, and we'd probably book one again, if we weren't so conservative with our points. ;)

In a std view room, I have heard noise--people celebrating after some game (World Series or Super Bowl, etc.) on their way to the parking lot. Also, there have been some large groups (dressed in their "corporate wear") waiting in the port cochere for a cab at 2 a.m.--they made more noise than those from ESPN.

If you aren't used to noise (e.g. you live in the country), any room at the Boardwalk has the potential to be noisy. If you are a city dweller to start with, you probably won't notice the noise at all even if you are right above a party of drunks at Big River.

We normally stay Standard View because I'm naturally frugal. But it can be noisy if you are close to the drive.

When we have guests we sometimes choose Boardwalk View for the impressiveness of it. We did this last trip when I had my family with us, and my mother in particular LOVED sitting on the balcony. They had thought I was a little nuts to be doing what was day by day calling to make sure of the view - but understood why when they were watching fireworks while the kids slept in the room.

We've only had preferred view once - a trip scheduled on shorter notice. Overlooking Luna Park is not a quiet experience, although the noise generally ends earlier than bar closing time.

Thank you all for your advice. I am going to try for the Boardwalk view. My mother travels with me on my Disney trips and loves to sit out on the balconies while I go out and get our errands in the morning. I couldn't imagine any noise from the Boardwalk bothering us. :thumbsup2
