Looking for suggestions on how to kill time...

On February 7th, I have reservations for tea at the GF at 3:50 pm, just me and my 7 year old granddaughter. I am also planning on purchasing tickets for Disney After Hours at MK that evening. I reckon I can maybe stretch the tea out to 4:45 - but won't be able to get into MK until 7pm. We are staying at OKW, so don't really want to head back there in between....any suggestions on how to kill that time?

Im guessing you really want to do the Tea, otherwise I would say book Chef Mickeys for 530/6 and then walk to MK.

unfortunately, there's nothing available for Chef MIckeys that evening, and we have reservations for Crystal Palace the following evening

OK. Maybe set up a reservation finder for Chef Mickeys using TPs and see what happens. I always get what I want even during busy times. How about 1900 Park Fare?

Maybe once your done and still killing time, take the monorail to Contemporary and walk around the stores a little and then walk to MK from there, taking up a little more time. Could look in the stores at GF too but after a while, not sure how much a 7 year old would want to do that especially if you are not going to purchase anything since heading to a park.

Just thought about this, take the monorail to TTC and then take the Epcot monorail which goes through Epcot. That would kill some time and then take back to Contemporary and walk to MK. Its all I could think of doing if I were you.

Have fun!

Hmmm, interesting dilemma.

I'd say monorail bar/lounge hop, but you're with a 7-year old so probably not high priority.

I would do a loop around the resort monorail just to kill some time. If so inclined, maybe stop at Poly and grab a beverage/light snacks at Trader Sams. Yes it's a bar but you can get kiddie tropical drinks and the setup is mildly entertaining (there can sometimes be a wait to get in, it's very small).

Into pressed pennies? Plan to monorail hop and find the machines at each resort / start a collection.

GF marshmallow roasting is on the calendar for 6pm in Dec, not sure what it will be in Feb. It's 4:30pm at Poly (not offered every day though) in Dec, but you'd need to check the Feb calendar when it comes out for then-current times. Poly's fire/marshmallow roasting setting overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon towards MK is lovely.

Sorry, running low on ideas!

Wander the grounds for a few minutes then head over to MK. Word is they are letting DAH ticket holders in as early as 6:00 regularly.

I did 3:50pm tea at GF last week and we were there until 5pm without stretching the time.

As others have mentioned, going to one of the marshmallow roastings could be fun if the timing works out. You can find the recreation calendars online for the resorts.

You could also walk to Poly, get dole whip, and sit on the beach if the weather is nice. Although we were full after eating the tea food!

I have not, just repeating what I have read. We are going in January as well.

sounds weird, but a seven she will love and spend lots of time washing her hands with those fancy soaps upstairs in the soap shop. They smell so yummy she can smell them and wash. my kids loved doing that coming back from parks before we went to the room at gf at that age (when the prices weren't crazy that we could afford to actually stay there!!)
We love shopping along the gift shops via monorail at poly and contemporary. We enjoy looking at the mural in the contemporary. she can get stickers in gf over by the gf cafe if someone is there at the dvc table, they always have stickers. pressed penny hunt for sure. piano listening if there's someone playing in the lobby.

I hadn't thought of setting something up under reservation find for Chef MIckeys...will try that. Thank you!

haha...the bar hopping sounds great to me, but you're right...my granddaughter may not be keen! Love the pressed pennies idea, as monorail/resort visiting on their own might not be enough of a "draw" for her...thanks for the idea!

omg...she would lOVE the soap thing...so girly!! Thanks for the suggestion!

If you don't mind spending more money, they do the Character Couture packages for kids at the GF spa. I've been considering it for my kids. Might be silly to do late in the day, though.

Hi
Two suggestions

1) Hidden Mickey hunt with a purchase at Basin as a reward for finding 10 Hidden Mickeys.
Use phone to record/photo locations.

2) Magical Manicure or pedicure at Disney's Senses Spa (Grand Floridian Resort & Spa).
Here is a good review on a day trip there.....

Have fun planning

Both wonderful ideas! I must be honest, I'd never heard about the Senses Spa... I think she would love to have some Minnie-themed nails!
