Hello everyone.

I just rec'd a flight change for my December trip. My departing flight now leaves at 5:30. When I first booked our trip it left early afternoon. I did not get park tickets for our last day. Any suggestions on what to do? It will be just me and my six year old DD. I am thinking maybe Downtown Disney. Any other suggestions?

They also changed my arriving flight. We get to Orlando at 11:30 instead of 1:00. Yeah!

Thanks!:)

Are you doing ME? I'd say skip the parks the first day and go to the parks the last day.

Otherwise, Downtown Disney, the pool, resort hop (look at Christmas decor).

Dumb question - what is ME?

Sorry, I meant Magical Express...but you can take me too if you want!:rotfl:

People usually use the abbreviation "DME." I'm just half asleep and working at the same time.

You can tell that I am a newbie. I am using Magical Express.

I know we will be chomping at the bit to get to the parks on the first day. We will be having dinner at 1900 Faire at 6:50. I would love to hit MK on our first day before dinner - and in a perfect world we could see Wishes before dinner. Wishes is at 6:00 that night. I know that is cutting it close. Maybe I can pull it off if we are near the park exit.

You could totally pull it off. Position yourself near the train station. As soon as Wishes is over, book it to the monorail. Even if you are a little late (which I don't think you will be) they'll still seat you.

Where did you get your park tickets from? I wonder if you can convert them? Its not that much to add an extra day. I don't know if its possible though.

It's easy to add another day to the tickets, and if you already have 3 days of tickets or more it's really cheap.

Having said that, I like a relaxed departure -- nothing annoys me more than coming home from vacation sleep deprived. So, I'd probably sleep in a little,, check out and then do a character breakfast -- we did Cape May on our recent trip and loved it.

I second the "add another day to the ticket" idea. If you are at a 5 or more day ticket, an extra day will only cost you about $3. If you bought your ticket from a discount place, use it once before you do the upgrade. You could have a lot of fun at the parks if you check out in the morning, let Disney keep your luggage, and go to the parks. As long as you leave the park an 1 1/2 from your scheduled Magical Express pickup time, you should have plenty of time to get back and you got to spend the whole morning in the park :cool1:

Another vote for getting the extra day tickets. We used our last day to do either rides we had missed earlier in the week or ones we "just had to do one more time!"

That being said, my DS and I did DW in May and by the end of our trip we were pooped and he was "parked out." His words, not mine. On our last day we did the safari at AK in the AM and then DS's favorite ride Primevil Whirl for the 10th time.....and then went to Blizzard Beach and played miniature golf. I also think going to DTD to do your souvenir shopping is a good idea for your last day too.

As a single Mom with a son, my advice to you is have fun, don't over schedule everything, get plenty of down time (ie pool time), enjoy seeing Disney World through your little boys eyes :goodvibes

If don't want to add another day to the parks - go resort hoping and see all the different Christmas decorations at each resort. I've always wanted to do that but it's hard since as a family we haven't gone during the holidays even with my :lovestruc of Christmas :lmao:

I would just add another day on in the parks, even if it is only for a few hours. It only will cost you an extra couple of dollars, it is so cheap.

On your arrival day (I know you didn't ask, but...) you can watch Wishes from the Grand Floridian and miss the crowds departing the MK and easily make your ADR. You could also watch Wishes from the Poly beach and then take the Monorail to the GF.
