Has anyone seen them around? I rented DVC points from them and can't get in touch via PM, email or phone...

Yikes! That is not a name I have even seen here on the DVC boards. Did they have a lot of posts?

No, they have 31 posts and their last one was in June of last year... I rented the points in May and my balance is due so I'm trying to get ahold of them and can't! I was new to the DIS then and didn't even think to look at the post count before going ahead, especially since I had just returned from a stay on rented points and had a great experience... There are a lot of people who appear to have rented from them so I'll try PM'ing a couple and see how it went.

Do you have a confirmation? I would call MS to make sure that the ressie is still good. This one smells and it doesn't smell good. Good luck with this. I've never seen posts from that person.

I just checked out stuartsong's last thread, and your ressie request was on the first page of 3 pages in his last thread. Hope you can track this down. I would suggest not only calling MS to check on your ressie, but also, you might like to go to that thread and contact some of the other folks who were renting his points.

I will be contacting MS tomorrow, and I've got a letter ready to go in the mail to them. I have also PM'd a couple of people from that thread, although most of them had so few posts/so long ago I figured it wasn't worth it. I heard back from a couple people though who didn't end up renting so I'm not getting very far there... Hopefully it's just a mistake and they'll contact me when they get the letter.

ryan840 contacted me but I guess I didn't get the points I have no info. but he joined in 2001 even though not many posts .I didn't think that mattered because I have always checked the join date .I hope that the ressie is still there I would feel awful as it would make us look bad please let us know .how much did you send him

I got the points for $9.50 -LOL, maybe that's why he won't talk to me, I think someone else said he asked $10.75 ($9.50 was his asking price for me, BTW) and sent him just under $250 so far. I'll let you all know what MS says tomorrow.

Seriously...I wouldn't really stress about this. Definitely call and check, but I tend to believe that 99.9% of members are very honest when it comes to renting out their points.

I definitely think communication could be better, but I am still betting that everything is fine. I know you need to get that payment in, though. Maybe he/she went away for an extended vacation over President's week, or maybe something happened, and he/she is just not checking their computer.

That's what I'm thinking/hoping... It's been over two weeks now since my first email, so I figure I better get the ball rolling JIC. I did want to give them a chance though, trying not to pester them incase they were unavailable/out of town. The only thing that has me worried is that I tried calling today for the first time and their phone has been disconnected...

Since your ressie is still intact, I'm wondering if perhaps the person that rented to you has relocated and forgotten to contact you (or lost your contact info). Hopefully, if that is the case, they've left a forwarding address for their mail.

I hope so- that's why I sent the letter before the payment, to see if they get it or not.

Relocation is possible, but I would be freaking out and worried. I'm not saying you should be, or even that freaking and worrying would help, it is just what I would do.

No updates yet, the letter will probably arrive tomorrow or Thursday, and Friday I'm going in to have the baby, so I won't know much until next week. I'll keep you posted though! As long as my ressie stays put I'm all good, I can still go to WDW!

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that I received an email from stuartsong today asking if I had their new address, so it was just a miscommunication. The baby has also arrived (he decided he wanted to choose his own birthday and came a day earlier than we planned) and we are all doing well. Thanks again for all the replies and well wishes!
