Looking for steak restaurant...

Well, then I stand corrected. Thank you! I haven't looked at it in years because of that requirement (also V&A).

But I'm also not carrying business casual clothes with me to WDW either. The time I went I was attending a conference, so I was neater anyway. If I want to go to a real steakhouse, well, I'm in NYC every day, as are you, and I can go to one there. It will probably be less expensive :)

To me business casual at a restaurant is nice pants/capris and a nice top, polo shirt for a man. Nothing different than I would wear to any other signature. Jeans are okay too, I wear them to nice restaurants in the city. Dress shorts are okay too at Disney signatures (but I nor my DH wear those).

Yes I find the steakhouses in NY are much better but like I said before we went to Yachtsman and it was very good and their apps were outstanding. The apps were pretty close with fantasic NYC restaurants. I don't find the NYC restaurants (or AC or Vegas which we frequent a lot) to be much different in price than Disney either.

Business casual is what I wear to work. Hence, I won't wear it to Disney :) Actually, I wear park attire to all restaurants in Disney, including the Signatures, because it's often where I'm headed after dinner.

But Shula's, plus CA Grill, are a bit different. They both attract a more business clientele that is a bit more dressed up, even casually.

Now granted, this was after a few Lapu Lapu's but my DH said that Kona Cafe had the best steak of the trip. (He said it was equally good as Yachtsmans which we ate at for our anniversary 2 days prior.)

Best steak at Disney - Shula's.

Citricos, California Grill, and the Flying Fish also have very good steaks.

New favorite place to get a superb piece of meat is Artist Point.

We travel to Disney a few times a year and always called day we could to make sure we could get into Lecellier because it was the best meat.Past few times it hasn't been a wow, like it once was, so we tried Artist Point for a treat. Now it's not a steak house but the food is soooooooo good. My meat was the best I have ever eaten. Everything made superb and taste great. It's our new MUST when we go now.

Just thought I would add an opinion :)

The first full day we'll be in Disney, we'll be celebrating my DH's 50th birthday and the man LOVES his steak and potatoes. We'll be on the Deluxe Dining Plan and I don't mind using 2 points if I have to). What would you recommend? Last time we were there, he kept talking about Schulers and Le Cellier I believe, but I don't know anything about either.

Le Cellier for sure. Best steak and the cheddar cheese soup is delicious too. And it's a lovely little restaurant. Had such a good time there when I went.

Fisrt and foremost--no need to dress for Shulas any more than any other signature restaurant. What ever you might wear to Yachtsman, you can wear to Shulas.

Since the OP is on the DDP, it would appear Shulas is out. So my next choice would be Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Shula's is far better than Mortons' (in terms of steak offerings) for the the same price and the atmosphere is definitely relaxed. I don't do the whole dining thing, but if that isn't an issue and you don't want to do V&A - Shula's is great and never disappoints in terms of service and food.

FWIW, its far more relaxing and quieter at Shula's than Yachtsman, although I've never had a bad meal there, the noise level has made it a tier 3 choice for me and Dh.

I'm a huge steak lover. DH loves fish. We eat at Flying Fish every time we stay at BWV. They have the best steak I've had onsite. Really. I have eaten at Yachtsman twice now....been underwhelmed each time. They badly overcooked my filet the first time, and by the time they had finally brought it to me, everyone else had already started. If I had sent it back, I would have been eating my entree when they were on dessert!! The second time was fine...but not great. And all four of us felt that way.
Everyone loved Flying Fish, Artist Point, and LeCellier. I will be trying Shula's in Dec. First time for that. Have been to Morton's, so looking forward to Shula's. We have many friends who prefer Shulas to Mortons.

My DH is a steak lover (we're from Texas). He absolutely loved the steak at WWC. and the rest of us enjoyed the BBQ. Delish!:goofy::donald::tinker::earboy2:

I've had steaks at Le Cellier, Yachtsman, Artist Point, Jiko, Kona Cafe and Narcoossee's. The best one was at Narcoossee's - even the server made a comment "Not a bad steak for a seafood place, eh?"

+1 for LeCellier. We went for lunch at 1 and were still so full that night that we skipped dinner. We payed OOP for the cheddar soup and split it - it was delicious. Especially with that pretzel bread!
