My mom and I are looking to stay somewhere different on the WDW property. We've stayed at a bunch of different resorts and were thinking of trying POFQ. Is it a nice place to stay? Is it noisy? How's the food court?

Thanks for all your help

It's beautiful and quiet....the food court is okay. I prefer the food court at POR though.

POFQ is our favorite mod (of which we've stayed at POR, CSR and POFQ.) It's quiet and small - small enough that all the buildings are very close to the resort amenities such as food court, pool, bus stops, water ferries to DTD, etc. And even though we travel in early August, which is a very busy season, it never seemed crowded at POFQ.

I have 40+ disney stays but only 2 at POFQ.

As a family of 4 we stayed there in oct 2006. Then I stayed there in march 2012, just me and my sister (we both in our 40's).

My kids did not love the theming. At that age they preferred POP. However my sister loved, loved, loved it. I let her choose where we would stay but I showed her this one first. She had stayed with us at POP but had not stayed anywhere else.

I love the new room decor. The resort is easy to navigate even at night. Food is good and a short walk to POR for more options. Busses both trip ran good. I love the boat ride to DTD. I don't feel it is as crowded as values. Also the hot tub was always near empty. The pool temp was not very warm so we walked to POR one day for warm water.
I would definitely stay there again. If you like that theming in person it is even more gorgeous. CM's were friendly too.
Lastly portorleans.org has great info on this hotel!:thumbsup2

It's a great resort. Small and quiet. The food court is pretty good. It has some good resort specific foods. Fresh, hot beignets with powdered sugar on top. MMMMMM. I am from Louisiana and can say that these are pretty good. The boat to DTD is nice even if you aren't interested in going to DTD; the ride is nice. Be aware though, there are usually very small or non-exsistent discounts for POFQ because it is a small resort and Disney doesn't have any problems filling the rooms. If that is not a problem for you, you'll have a great time.

we've just got back from pofq, thought it was the perfect size and was prettily themed. some people prefer por as it has more choice at the food court but we ate here a couple of times and it was so so busy, we queued for ages and got very frustrated, food was cold and spoiled by the time we had got everything and paid. definitely pofq the better choice imho x
