Looking for something "new" on this trip

DH and I are taking DS15 and his best friend to DLR over Easter vacation. Since the two teens will be out and about without us most of the time, I have the fun task of finding "adult" things to do. We have been to DLR and WDW *many* times so this might not be easy.

I am open to any suggestions you think might be "less known". But specifically, I am looking for opinions on two things:

1. Cove Bar in DCA. we've never been. Is it kids and adults? Anything special?

2. The Wine Cellar at DLH. I've heard it isn't always open. We are big wine-lovers. Do you find the wine list good/bad/average?

TIA!

How about some time at the spa at DCH. Maybe they do couples massage.

I'd suggest the Mandera Spa @ GCH, the chef's table @ Napa Rose, and maybe a tour.

Thanks! I did tell DH we should go to the spa. We've never been in all our visits. We will definitely do Napa Rose. We love the chef's counter.

Please keep the suggestions coming!

Forget the couples massage; get him the four-hands massage while you go off for the works treatment.

When my wife and I have some time alone in DL, we enjoy stopping and listening to a whole set of jazz music at the firehouse or N.O. square while munching on a fancy pastry.

the Cove Bar is great, kids are allowed at the tables but not the bar itself. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available. I love the Lobster Nachos there, they are fabulous!!!!! DBF and I like to sit there while the girls ride things we don't like, ie the Orange Sti......Silly Symphony Swings, Mickey's Fun Wheel, sometimes we skip Screamin', while the girls are doing that we are having lobster nachos and a drink. It's fun!!

Not sure whether they are currently offering this, but if you've not done it, try the port and chocolate tasting at Wine Country Trattoria. It's so much fun and they talk you through it, letting you mix and match 3 types of port and 3 types of Ghirardelli chocolate. You can also choose port and cheese tasting. Last time I was there, though, they were not at that time offering the chocolate, only the cheese. Anyway, they will give you samples of other things if you are friendly and ask--we got Magicale and a couple of other tastes in there. The sommelier told us to head straight over to Tower of Terror afterward, and he was right...it was a new experience after all that port etc :rotfl:

Bummer about the Cove Bar--but thanks for the info.

The wine and cheese sounds good. We live near SF so I'd probably skip the Ghiradelli chocolate anyway.

This is why I love the disboards--so much knowledge! :worship:
