Why not try kayaking at Cocoa Beach? For years I have wanted to see manatees in their own habitat but have always been told that we go to Florida at the wrong time of year (we always go end of June/beginning of July). This year we booked a trip with Blue Heron Adventures. Jerry, who owns the company and was our guide, was a fantastic guy very friendly and helpful. He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the local wildlife. He takes a maximum of eleven people out on two-man kayaks for a half day trip on the River at Cocoa Beach. The highlight of our trip was when we came upon three manatees who played around the kayaks and who gave everyone the opportunity of a close up view!
Id thoroughly recommend it as something different to do away from the parks and for a chance to see some of the real Florida.
