Looking for some info on fevers

Kids have the flu-confirmed by the ER last Sat.

Fevers went away for about a day but are back and running about 102.6

Is this normal with the flu or some type of secondary infection?

I'd be concerned about an infection. My 3 yr old had the flu this past weekend. She got rid of the fever on Sunday night and it was back Tue afternoon. Turns out she had developed a sinus infection. She's doing very well now that she's on Ammox.

I've read if they seem to get better, then the fever comes back to call the doctor. Something like the sinus infection, or an ear infection, etc. may have developed.

My son had the flu last week. THe fever was pretty consitent, although it went up at night, as usual. His high was 103.8. THe whole ordeal lasted 5 full days but I hear we did pretty well as others are down for at least a week. It took him about another 4 days to be completetly back to normal as far as energy goes and the cough lingers... Good luck to you and your child.
