Have most of our dining plans set for our upcoming trip ... but I have a couple of "holes" - I'm not sure if I should make concrete plans for my "holes" or just have those few times that we don't have plans and fly by the seat of our pants ... so I come to those who know everything ... the day that we are spending at Disney-MGM Studios I have a breakfast and a lunch open ... are there any restaurants that we will regret missing? We will be staying at the AKL and will have had breakfast at Boma the day before. Is there another restaurant at AKL that we should have breakfast at?

Of course, I am open to all suggestions ... I have made quite a few PS arrangements and we will be at the world for 4 days and 3 nites --- I just want to make sure that we at least get to eat at all the MUST EATS for this trip ... so fire away ... waiting for all your excellent suggestions!

At MGM if you want a little entertainment with your meal try either the 50's Prime Time Cafe or the Sci-Fi Dine In. They are unique. Hollywood & Vine had great character meals but I'm not sure if they do those anymore (anyone ?).

It depends on when you're going and where you like to eat. Usually we travel during value season, many times without a single PS, unless there's a character meal or a place we absolutely must eat on the agenda, and we've never had a problem. Also, we often eat early, and if it's a *hot* restaurant you're better off w/ a PS. This next trip I've made several PS', it's summer, bigger crowds and we're planning a laid back, smell the roses kind of trip so I'm not worrying about rushing through the parks and onto the next PS, you know?

I haven't eaten in AKL, but Boma gets rave reviews, I bet you'll eat there more than once! Our family loves 50's PTC for lunch. I don't believe H&V does character meals anymore. Check out www.wdwig.com for menus.

Lunch you could do 50'S Prime Time or Sci-Fi, breakfast you could do Hollywood & Vine, nothing to write home about, but not that bad.

All things considered (food and atmosphere) -- which would you do ... Sci-Fi or 50's?

Thanks!

I would choose Prime Time over Sci Fi .....

Happy deciding!

Another vote for 50s Prime Time Cafe.

Our first choice for lunch at MGM is Mama Melrose's.

At AKL Mara or room service are your only other choices for breakfast.

we love 50's primetime. we go every trip. :teeth:

make sure you get a peanut butter and jelly shake. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We love all the table service restaurants at MGM and all for different reasons. But if we could only go to one, it would probably be the Prime Time Cafe.

If you don't mind taking a short bus trip, the Character Breakfast at Restaurantasaurus in the AK is very good. We aren't huge character hunters, but found this breakfast fun...and the buffet good.

thanks for all the great replies ... it seems like the consensus is pretty clear ... 50's it is! Peanut butter and jelly shake huh ... very interesting!
