We will be there for a week and while we usually cook most of our meals (have a cabin) we do like to go out once or twice. Mind you I have been going there all of my life and to this day still have not found a good restaurant to eat at:confused3 There's that mexican place just past the village, but kiddos don't care for that. Any suggestions?

My parents vacation in the area every summer and they always eat at Grandma's Back Porch at least twice (breakfast and dinner) during their trip. They love the food and the prices!

There is a Great Mexican place near Lake Georg it's in Hudson Falls El Mexicano also in Queensbury there is a little place called the Heidleberg they have german food and really good homemade desserts. We just ate at the Ridge Terrace and it is excellent (though it is more expensive than the others)

Cate's Italian Garden in Bolton Landing!!! Excellent food, very clean and friendly! Loved the meatloaf...and I'm very picky about eating meat loaf out. Took friends of ours that visited us at the Sagamore and they loved it also! Sadly, the chef would not divulge his secret ingredients!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We were just there 2 weeks ago. I too went three every summer as a kid. There is a new restaurant in town called Moose Tooth Grill. It was very attractive so we tried it. They have mostly burgers/salads/sandwiches. It was pretty good. We loved the sweet potatoe fries & the root beer!!!:)

If you're willing to travel a few miles, there's a great place on Rt. 149 called the Blue Roof Bistro. Casual, and Authentic British food, entrees $8-14. Fish and chips is $9.95.(huge portion) Awesome beef and Guinness pie(in puff pastry box) is around $12. No beer/liquor license (yet-I think they're working on it). We love it, came across it by accident one night on our way to Charlie's BBQ (also good). Staff is friendly, and chef is from the UK, trying to make a go of it without a lot of $$ for advertising. I think you can find them on facebook. Save room for dessert!!
