Right now I have a 'shout' stick and it doesn't help much.

My DD has some kind of grease on a cotton dress that I would love to try and get clean.

Any suggestions please!?

Thanks!

My favorite is called Zout. It comes in a purple magic and it has gotten out 99% of my sons stains. It's great!

I use the Spray and Wash stain stick. It has always worked for me.

I love Zout as well. It's gotten out stains that went through the washer and dryer before I noticed them. It's really great on grease.

My first try is shout stick and then shout stick and liquid shout together.

Last resort is Lestoil.

I just started using something new, but I can't remember if it is from Shout or Spray & Wash. But the bottle is divided in half, and the two liquids mix as they come out of the bottle. I've not found a stain yet that it doesn't take out, and most of the time the stain is almost gone before I've even put the garment into the washing machine.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have never heard of Zout or the stuff you mix together. Maybe I should use both!!

::yes:: My absolute favorite, too!

I use Sunlight dish soap and pour it right in the stain and wash it. Works like a charm.

I never thought of that but it makes a lot of sense! Dish soap is full of grease-cutters. Great idea--thanks!

I also use dishsoap for grease stains.

Where do you find zout? I do have other stains that aren't coming out with shout.

most grocery stores sell it with the stain remover section. I use spray and wash stick on things I don't want to wash right away. I will stain stick things and then put them in the hamper until I am ready to wash them and it will usually get anything out. Grease can be hard depending on the fabric. I have never had any luck getting grease out of polyester of any kind.

I agree that lestoil is the best thing for hard to get out grease like crayon in the dryer. It works great, it just really smells awful!!

I didn't see Zout in the store today--perhaps they don't sell it in Canada. I'll pick some up on our next trip to the US.

I did re-wash the dress using some rubbed-in dish soap and it took out quite a bit of the grease--enough that it's only a faint mark now and she can still wear the dress.

I never would have thought of dishsoap, but I'll definitely keep some in the laundry room now!

I use lots of Spray and Wash (or spray Shout, whichever). I also presoak really messy clothes (like outfits my DD16 mos. has covered in spaghetti sauce) in the washer with Oxiclean -- I just set the washer to "Soak" and put in 4-5 liberal scoops of Oxiclean with the clothes and let soak for several hours before washing normally.

Yet another vote for Zout but with the Oxy Foaming formula! After spraying it on, I brush it in & then spray it one more time & let sit for about 2 mins before washing. EVERY stain has come out that I've tried it on! I buy it at Walmart for just over $2 & it's worth every penny! I can also find it at Meijer & Farmer Jack (if you have those stores out there).
