We are going to House of Blue's in August. I would love to hear some recent and older reviews. Anything you can tell me about House of Blue's would be great!

Thanks in advance,

This is from way back from Spring Break '04--but you wanted reviews :) We were on the old silver plan--so it was a 3 course meal = too much food!

I've also eaten at the one in Las Vegas more recently, and had a very good lunch! I think it's worth a stop :)

House of Blues, Downtown Disney
Lunch: This was an unplanned stop, as we had thought about doing EMH at Epcot, but scrapped it for a lazy morning shopping at DD. Cath had been to the House of Blues in LA, and highly recommended it, so we chose it for lunch. We had a great meal here. We shared the fried calamari and the spinach artichoke dip as starters. The entrees took some time, so we ate nearly all of both, and really weren’t that hungry for the main feature, but we managed to eat it anyway Cath had a chicken, mushroom and pasta dish that was super good. It almost had a stroganoff flavor too it, and I had wished I ordered the same thing. My grilled chicken was also very good, but the pasta dish was over the top! We some how managed a few bites each of dessert, apple crumble for Cath and key lime pie for me. The apples were fairly spicy, and not too sweet. I liked it, but Cath was not a fan. The key lime pie was excellent, and I ate way more than I should have—but I just couldn’t stop!

Hello, Melanie! My DH and I just returned from our honeymoon, and we ate at HoB before attending Cirque, the night of their last performance!! We both ordered the sushi-grade salmon, cooked rare, on a bed of jumbalaya. He had a gumbo appetizer, which was very good. Our meal was somewhat tainted by an extremely unpleasant experience unrelated to the restaurant that had just occured, so I feel as if I was not able to totally enjoy the atmosphere, but we DID enjoy the food!!! The salmon was delightful, REALLY a treat. I am a big fan of rare salmon, and the flavor was remarkable. I highly recommend the dish. Got our AP discount, and left feeling full and happy. Will definitely return. Make sure you have reservations! It was busy!

we were there last year and still talk about how great the meal was! I had the poor boy, dh had the ribs, ds had the jumbalaya and I don't remember what dd had.

The bread pudding was out of this world! DH who usually hates bread pudding said it was the most wonderful dessert he had the whole trip!

DS and I ate there a couple of weeks ago. I had the Ribs, which were to die for! Really, some of the best I ever had. Unfortunately I could not finish them and my hotel room did not have a refrigerator, so I had to leave them. My son got the kids pizza, which I also would not have been able to finish if it was mine, it was huge.

Overall, I would say huge portions, great taste, decent price.

Most recent HoB visit was 5/11/06 after Cirque early show.

DW and I shared Calamari app, very nice - large serving well prepared.

DW had pasta and chicken entree that was nicely done.

I had the meatloaf and could not finish the plate, huge prtion and very good comfort food.

The House of Blues has to be my favorite at Downtown Disney. I first made a reservation there because it is very near the Circus show; but after that experience, I stop there for dinner every time I visit WDW regardless of my other pans for the evening. My favorite: The Shrimp Po-Boy.

Highly recommended.

Enjoy.

We have been to HoB many times and always enjoyed our meals. I always enjoy the Jambalaya dish. There Rosemary Cornbread is also very good. :)

We usually eat there every trip, hands down my fav DTD restaurant. Great food, funky atmosphere, love it! If the weather is nice, eat out on the back porch, it's lovely! I've gotten good service and food everytime. Rosemary cornbread (you can't go there and not order it, it's devine!) Voodoo Shrimp (comes with cornbread, but you need the whole skillet!) Po Boy sandwich, Jambalaya, chicken satay, the best mac& cheese... Sadly we've been too full to try dessert here. I wish they particpated in DDP....I'll miss it next time!!! Bon Appetité!

I did a review in april I can't locate it right now. I love this place. Another vote for the voodoo shrimp with cornbread and the Jambalaya Nancy

We're definately going to try HoB in October! DDad is the adventurous one of our party, so he'll have plenty of choice here I think! DMum and DH will also try something a bit different than usual! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, DD and I are picky eaters, so I'm glad to hear the Mac N Cheese is great (DD will probably order this) and I'll probably get a steak. :teeth: I really want to try the Rosemary Cornbread though - every review I've read says its really good! :)

HOB is always one of our dining stops. Everyone loves it. My only disapointment is they took the crawfish etouffee off the menu and it was my favorite. Bring it back!!!
