any ideas? I'll be there on business this week and one of my friends will be with me for one night and she lives in Jersey but doesn't know too much about Paramus. Any fun bars to go to?

Thanks,

I've been out of the bar scene for so many years that I can't answer your question exactly.

However, I do want to say that Paramus is a huge shopping mecca. The Garden State Plaza has a number of restaurants with bars in them that seem to be popular. It has a Ruby Tuesday, Joe's American Bar & Grill, and the Napa Valley Grille. I've heard that all three places attract a party crowd at night.

If you're staying near the Paramus Park mall (a Radisson?), you might want to check out the Applebee's in the Fashion Centre.

Have fun! Paramus is a beautiful place. :)

I'm staying at a comfort inn and suites. Sounds like I'll have plenty places to choose from. Thanks for the info.

Ohhh it's been a while for me..in Paramus I used to go to the Junkyard..it also has another name, forget what it's called..everyone knows it though, if you ask at the hotel they should be able to give you directions.

Edited to add that there's a place called Biaggios on Paramus Rd. It's a restaurant, but I think a bar too.

Then ther'e the OL/Orange Lantern..lots of people go there but it's a total dive bar..I've been there once and it was enough. LOL

Lived in Paramus before the malls and have been gone for so long I can't help out regarding the fun spots.

V.S.P. is a great place to ask someone to marry you if your looking for a long term relationship. Just have to ask DW. :thumbsup2

Need a B&W Bakery Heavy Crumbcake fix.

Paramus really isn't a place to go to the bars, it's mostly a shopping town with residential neighborhoods surrounding it. The only thing to do really in Paramus is shop. I would not eat at the Garden State Plaza simply because of the sheer amount of people in that mall... you won't want to wait, and that mall is one of the busiest malls in the US, there are quite a few "Flagship" upscale stores in that mall, specifically the new Victoria's Secret and the Best Buy right next to the mall which is the size of a Sports Authority. Parking at the mall is next to an impossibility on a Saturday evening... only try to go there during the week. It's closed on Sunday.

If you want to hit up some good nightlife though, check out Ridgewood, NJ... it's only 1 mile northwest and the nightlife is far better than anything Paramus has to offer. Specifically check out "The Office"... it's always packed with people young and old, and is attached to a "Charlie Browns" (nothing to do with the cartoon), an excellent chain restaurant only home to the northeastern corridor of the country.

Another good town to go out in, if you feel like a little drive is Pearl River, NY (it's just north of the border, about 5 miles from Paramus), but it's mostly for a younger crowd than Ridgewood is. Not sure on your tastes are, so I'm throwing every possibility out there.
