I stumbled across pick a Pearl in a trip report a few years ago and my DD11 and DD7 are very excited to do this.

What other neat and unusual activities do your kids this age enjoy? Looking for simple things that can add a bit of magic and that don't eat up a bunch of time.

I'm hoping to get the silhouettes done of my kids. They are affordable and a great keepsake. From the videos I have watched, it looks like it only takes a few minutes. They are done at a cart on one of the side alleys off Main Street in MK.

Last trip, the kids were 7 and 12 and they were obsessed with the grab bags in Downtown Disney. I think it was in Fun Finds; I know it was pretty close to the main bus stop entrance. They're actually a good value for the price, too. Great idea to buy and then open on the plane home, if they can wait that long!

We also had a lot of fun and Animal Kingdom Lodge at the savannah. If you have a meal there, leave yourself time to check them out (plus it's free to see the animals either way).

Getting the passports at EPCOT. The passport looks great, it comes with stickers for each country so it's fun and you visit the designated area in each country and they'll write you a message in their native language. I enjoyed it still at the age of 21!!

.....also penny press machines. You can get an official book to collect them all in. They are a great souvenir.

Great ideas! I haven't heard of the grab bags. We'll check those out. I think my girls would love them. I plan to do the pressed pennies as well. Thanks!

We plan on doing the Animation lesson at HS this time. We also love Club Cool at Epcot, pin trading, and washing our hands at the Basin and trying all the fun scents. Someday I want to go to Chip and Dale sing a long at the campground as well.

We are also going to try the Animation lesson for the first time. What is the Basin? I'm not familiar with that.

The Basin is a bath and body type of shop located in Downtown Disney. There is also a smaller version at the Grand Floridian. They have these awesome salt and sugar scrubs and you can wash your hands and try them. There are big sinks in the middle of the DTD store. It's become a tradition.

That does sound cool! Thanks!

Agent P at Epcot. My daughter was 9 last trip and did two of these. My son helped on one the trip before when he was 11 and enjoyed it. Agent P is a video interactive game that gets guests to explore more of the pavilions.

My boys who are now 10 and 12 LOVE eating at Whispering Canyon in Wilderness Lodge. Its a lot of fun for the kids, the whole family really.

Buy some cheap gems and when you are at Mickeys Philharmagic, reach out and "grab" some at the scene where they float in the air. My dd was always amazed that I could "catch" them.

So many great ideas! I'm glad to hear positive feedback on Agent P...we're hoping to try it this time. I like the gems idea too.

Keep the ideas coming!

Go over to the Poly and watch the lighting of the torch ceremony held at the front lobby doors. Ask at the front desk what time it will take place.
