Looking for March 6th Magic Cruisers

Here's something my dad sent me from the FAQ section:

You won't really need cash on the Disney ships, but when you get to port,
you'll probably want to have some money with you. In the Bahamas and the
Caribbean, U.S. dollars and major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.
On board our ships, all transactions are in U.S. dollars. However, you won't
need cash while we're at sea because Disney Cruise Line has a convenient
"cash-free" system on board the ship. When you arrive at the Walt Disney
World® Resort or at the Disney Cruise Line terminal at Port Canaveral, your
signature will be requested for check-in. At this time you may also present a
credit card (Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express®, Discover® Card, Diners
Club®, Japanese Credit Bureau or Disney's Visa® Credit Card) which will give
you charging privileges at both the Walt Disney World Resort and aboard the
ship. Any purchases on the ship, including beverage services, spa, salon
services, photography, medical and laundry services, purchases from our retail
shops, gratuities and any item or service of a personal nature must be charged
to your room. All charges must be settled before your Resort departure and
debarkation from the ship by cash, travelers checks, Disney Dollars or by the
credit cards mentioned above.
omething that my dad sent me, as far as spending goes:

I called DCL gifts and put money on our shipboard account. That way I don't have to worry about what card to use or running to guest services. Whatever I don't use (yeah right!) will be given back to me when the cruise is over!

I'm really excited about cruising but I have this anxiety about getting onboard and making Palo and spa ressies...anyone else feeling this:hyper: . I'm going with the attitude of "no worries" it's a vacation. But I still have that little voice in my head whispering "gotta get Palo ressies, gotta get Palo ressies" LOL!!

I'm worried about what night to make the Palo ressies. I've read to make them on the night of your Parrot Cay rotation, but we won't know what rotation we get until we check-in.

Also, what do you do with the kids the night of Palo? Do they eat in the clubs? I only have to worry about my DD 10.

Another question -- do they sell movie candy before the shows? I read where someone brought their own movie treats. I don't really think it would be necessary -- not like we're going to be hungry!! The kids might want it though.

Plano4, they say normally if your family is made up of parents and youngsters you can assume that you may have APL rotation. MMouse37 has a great chart on her site that lists the special nights along with your rotation. I'll try to find the link for you. I'm going for Tuesday night. We have the early seating, so we'll go to dinner with the kids at 6pm and send them to the clubs while we go to Palo. If you decide to go to Palo during your regular meal time, the kids will have dinner at the clubs. There is a special hall that they use to bring the kids to lunch/dinner.

I'm not sure about the candy, but I did call today to get a list of movies. Here's what I was told was playing:

Finding Nemo
Pirates of the Carribbean
Under the Tuscan Sun
Brother Bear
Haunted Mansion
Calendar Girls
Miracle
Cold Mountain
Teacher's Pet
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

They also made note that "Lord of the Rings, Return of the King" and "Master and Commander" were due to debut soon, but didn't have a date on them.

Somebody please fill me in about the paint chips. Do I need them, how many? Where to get them? What are they for? Help, clocks a ticking!!! Thanks!

It is your dining rotation I believe. 7 letters, 7 day cruise, P= Parrot Cay, L= Lumieres, A= Animators Palate, or at least that would be my guess.

Thanks for the link TarraLee!;)

AndPigletToo, you are correct about the letters. I'll check and see if I have any Mickey chips left, if I do I'll let you know. They are the paint "swatches" that you get from Home Depot. They are shaped like Mickey's head. A lot of DISers use them to decorate their doors or use them to put their DIS name on so that you can recognize fellow DISers. Most people use the Sonic Boom or Alien Green. It's amazing to check out your local Home Depot and see all of the other colors, except those two, are full!

Oh I get it now.....Thanks! It will be so nice to be so smart when I get to the port! Thanks to this board!

I just thought of something..... if you are having a hard time finding those green paint chips. I have post it notes that are that bright green color, why not just cut out a mickey head and use that or even uses bright green construction paper!!

Is anyone getting in the night before sailing? If so where are you staying? We have made res in Orlando. Also, YIPPY!! DH agreed to rent a Lincoln Town car to get us to the boat rather than ride the Mears bus. Can you believe it? $50 per person to ride that bus. It was $50 cheaper to get the car! :wave2: That is for me!

We are flying to Orlando Friday, renting a car (still cheaper than Mears!), and staying at Pop Century the night before the cruise. I really wanted to do some shopping at DTD, so that's our plan for Friday. Trying to decide where to eat Friday night, I was thinking maybe CA Grill or Ohana to see the Fireworks.

Can't wait to see you all in a week!

We are flying in Friday night, renting a car ,and driving to Port C. to stay at the Radisson.

:earseek: I can't believe we are so close to going!

:earsgirl: Teresa

We're driving down and leaving Wednesday night around 7 or 8 pm. Driving all night and down to around Hilton Head for Thursday night and then a 6 or 7 hour drive on Friday to the Radisson.
Love the drive down. Watching everything change from ice and snow, to no snow, to yellowish browns to green to summer.
Got all our American money yesterday and put the hard top roof carrier on the van so getting closer :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I am thinking that we won't have any transportation to DTD, but I am wondering if I can catch a shuttle bus to there. We get in around 7pm, byt the time we get to the hotel by shuttle it will be around 8:30 pm. How late is DTD open? The stores and restaurants I mean. We absolutely LOVE the Rainforest Cafe'. But by the time we take the shuttle to DTD it will be atleast 9:30 pm, so hmmmm. I'll have to think on this one. Maybe I'll just order a pizza, take a quick evening dip, then get a good nights rest. Hope those limo drivers are dependable, don't want to miss the boat.Would really like to meet you all, so let me know what the plan is.:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1::jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1::jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

We are leaving Tuesday, and being DVC members we will stay at the Boardwalk. TerraLee, Ohana is a great choice. It is a fun place to eat and the food is great. Walk up and watch them cook.
All the snow we have left on the ground is that yucky black stuff on the side of the road Grumbo, but snow is in the forcast for Tuesday.
:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Still dancing!!!

Where are you Sultan?
The forecast here is for flurries on Wednesday but hope as I get south it should be OK.

Cheers,
Grumbo
