looking for Loop clarity

Okay, makes sense. As long as they both have cable, either would work for me! Thanks for the explanation.

What is a full hookup missing that a preferred or premium has?

My understanding is that full hook-up will lack CATV, but this past summer I saw them running conduit in 1600 & 1900 for said CATV. I don't know if they've hooked it up to the sites in these loops however. 1700 & 1800 do have CATV cause I've used it in these two loops.

My April ressies are for "preffered" my wife asked for full hook up, we requested 1600-1900 so it looks like for now we are going to pay the higher price to stay in, what will eventually be full hook up again.

We have reserved two preferred sites in June. We were told on two different phone calls to reservations that the 100-200 & 300 will be the only preferred sites at that time. Can't say anything about the others.

The 1900 loop had cable in Nov/Dec 2008.

I was told that AFTER all of the loops are renovated, 1600-1900 will be converted back to full hookup, pet loops. They will be the only full hookup sites.

So, all Full Hookup loops will also be pet loops? Seems a little strange not having any Full Hookup, non-pet sites. :confused3

That is not what I heard, only 1600 and 1800 are to be full pets, as always.

We're heading to FtW 1/21 thru 1/25. I have a full hook-up site reserved. It'll be interesting to see where we end up.

In December we had a full hook-up & ended up in 900. There was no CATV when we checked in, but by Friday afternoon, the cable was connected to our site.

Go figure!

1900 is currently a pet loop - just stayed in it last month. There were doggy bag dispensers in our loop. I have also stayed in 1700 and 1800 and they were both pets loops also. Not sure if 1600 is currently designated pet but there were definitely alot of pets in them. So as of last month, all four of those loops were pet. During the renovations I don't think they are paying alot of attention to the pet designation on loops but guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens after the renovations are done.

It would be so much easier if they went ahead and made all the sites pet friendly.

So are the partials going away altogether?
My understanding is that the partials will remain. The only question is about the full hookups on wether they become prefered or not.......

Which loops have partials? We have a pop-up and don't need sewer.

Totally agree, it would eliminate alot of hassles. However, I can imagine there would be some ticked-off people if this happened. Although I am sure there are some, I have never been to a campground that had designated loops for pets only. Disney could make all loops pet except for one loop in preferred and one in premium. That way if some one really didn't want to be in a pet loop, they could place them there. Pets loops need to be the majority, not minority, of loops.

I have always asked for non pet loop after a disastrous few days about 3 years ago. The site next door had a "gate" put up outside and their dog barked all night. When I mentioned this the next day, Disney offered to move me. I didn't feel that I should have to move because they could not keep their dog from barking. Your right, if all people were responsible with their pets, it would be less hassles for everyone. BUT I have found that not to be the case.

These are the official pet rules at the Fort:
* Pets will be restricted at all times to the designated pet loops.
* Pets must be walked on the pet path along the waterway and the owner is responsible for picking up and disposing after their pet.
* Pets must be kept on a leash when being walked when on the site.
* Guests may not leave pets unattended because this may cause the pets to bark and disturb other Guests.
* Pets are not allowed on electric carts.

Every time that I go to FW, I see these being ignored on a regular basis (usually by the same groups of people).

John, may I ask where this official list comes from? I only ask because, as I understand it, at least a couple of these rules have been expressly overturned.

Not to hijack the thread completely, but I happen to have my "Release and Indemnity Agreement" that we had to sign at check-in on 11/30 here in front of me. It says...

"Separate Campsites for Guests with Pets
Guests who wish to keep their pets at their site must stay in a designated Pet Loop. The sites in these areas have water, electricty, and sewer hook-ups, and are convenient to the Comfort Stations and Pet Paths.

For the safety and convenience of all guests, a few guidelines have been established for these areas. Owners not adhering to these policies will be required to board the pets in the kennel at the overnight fee of $18.00 per dog and $13.00 per cat.

- Guests must be with their pet whenever it is outside of the motor home.
- Pets must be on a leash or tether, no longer than eight feet at all times. This includes Pet Loops and Pet Paths.
- Pets are not permitted at the Comfort Station or Recreation areas.
- Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pet.
- Pets are not allowed in pop-up trailers or tents."

No other rules or guidelines are mentioned (except those specific to the dog park).

Interestingly, it says specifically that pets are not allowed in pop-ups or tents period. No mention of that only being the case when you're not at your site.

Also I can attest to the fact that since the opening of the dog park a year ago, leashed dogs are now allowed on golf carts and on paths/sidewalks leading to/from the dog park. The only areas still off limits are the recreation areas (trading posts, marina, pools, etc.), comfort stations and other common areas - and there are signs there indicating this.

Well this looks like a clear violation to me!!!!
