Looking for information on Shutters...

Do they offer only one package/photo size?
What are the costs? If we know walking on the ship we want pictures is it more cost efficient to just do package? Are all the formal shots done with that "backdrop"?
What is the "release form" I've seen on www.castawaycay.com - and do I need to bring that on the ship?

There are many, many different options consisting of backdrops which will be offered at various times and places around the ship, more casual posed shots like the embarkation photo, picture with the ship in the background on the island, character pics, and photos taken at dinner, and also some nice "spontaneous" photos (for example, the photographers snap some neat shots on the beach at Castaway Cay). There are a couple of different sizes, and the photo package info. is listed on the Navigators. The nice thing is, you can have all the shots taken without any obligation to buy them. Take as many opportunities as you like and decide which ones you like best. Our bedroom is like a Shutters photo gallery
The release form is used if you want to have copies of a photo made after your vacation.

Will the Shutters staff take pictures of you with your own camera if you ask them to, after they have taken the picture with their camera?

No. The photography staff carry very large and bulky cameras that couldn't be easily put down and picked up repeatedly.

I usually see other individuals in the party snap pictures after the photography crew is finished.

There were almost always cast members available to snap your photographs at almost every photo opportunity place. We bought a Shutters package, but we also got several photographs on our camera that were taken by CM's who were in charge of the photo lines. The place they went out of the way to do this was the photographs with the Captain and the photos with the characters.
