Looking for information on how the Give a Day Fastpass option at DL CA

We are planning a trip in Sept to Disneyland CA. We would like to use our Give a Day Get a Day tickets for the Fastpass option. Has anyone used theirs at Disneyland with the Fastpass option? How does it work etc? Does it work only on certain rides or on all fastpass rides.

All I can find info on is the Fastpass option at Disneyworld.
