We usually travel to WDW in January to miss the crowds and heat. Does anyone have experience with crowds, weather, campground, anything Disney in October? Thanks!

The Food & Wine Festival is in October at Epcot. YUM!!!

There are several Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parties scheduled in October.

There is also a major golf tournament in October, which tends to fill up the good sit down restaurants at the deluxe resorts, but doesn't affect the parks much.

We often go in October and are again this year. October is great weather wise - warm days, cool nights. Take shorts, tees, jeans, and a light jacket.

Crowds are on and off??? Last year when we went (early Oct.) it was pretty crowded, and we found out while we were there that Georgia schools were out at that time so that may have affected the crowds. Prior to last year, we've always found crowds to be fairly light in Oct.

This year we're going a bit later in the month - hoping it won't be quite as crowded.

The Campground is great, busy but not packed.

Do plan to do the "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party." :goodvibes You have to purchase seperate tickets for this after hours event at the Magic Kingdom but it's lots of fun. It's held on selected nights in Oct.

Happy Camping!

We will be there Oct. 6-13 or so, and have requested loop 100 then 200. Our kids, 12 year old daughter and 7 year old son will have birthdays during this time. Any ideas for special Bday ideas, as if being at WDW is not enough!?! We won't be there on any of the dates for the Not so scary party. We like Chef Mickey for Char. Dinner but have never been to any other. We will have 9 people on 2 campsites so they consider it a grand gathering. They have special experiences for Grand Gatherings, anyone know anything about these?
Thank you for the replies!

The days are often very warm, but the evenings it can be chilly. Make sure to bring a jacket and bug repellant to the campfire and movie if you go....

October is our favorite time to camp at the fort. These are the same days we will be there. There are 3 days during that week for MNSSHP, 8th, 11th, and 12th. We have tickets for the 11th. Here's more info: http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/halloween.htm

Also, the Food and Wine Festival shouldn't be missed: :thumbsup2
