We are DVC members at HH and OKW, but I have never done an actual DVC page. I've done pages for each of the resorts that we have stayed at, but not really from a DVC standpoint.

You could do a 5 (or 10 or whatever) reasons that I love being a DVC member... (I think I'm going to steal my own suggestion, hahaha).

And list them out with some photos of the property, the Welcome Home sign, a scan of your membership card, a scan of your deed/paperwork...

Reason -- 1)discounted APs, 2) Laundry facilities!!, 3) THE JACUZZI TUB!!!, 4) The CMs saying "Welcome Home", etc.... (well, those are mine anyway)

I never thought of those ideas. I like the idea of the deed and membership card scanning. Thanks much

LOL! I love that top 5....your top ones would be mine too!

When we first joined I did a page in my album with photos of the Boardwalk and some journaling about how happy we were to have it as our new home....even though we didn't stay there until over a year later.

I'd love to see what some of you come up with!

You might start with a page that tells the story of what made you decide to buy in...what lead up to it, what your guide said that made you sign on the dotted line, and how you felt when you got your membership cards. If I was going to do a book on my DVC membership, the part leading up to purchasing would probably be longer than the rest of the book. We were sent the initial DVC information before a single building had even been built at OKW. For years my husband wanted to buy in, and I would always say NO (I felt like it was out of our budget). Finally in 1998, he called up our guide (who had stayed in touch with us all this time) and told her to have the papers ready, because we were coming to sign. I had no idea what was going on until the DVC van came to get us. I was still saying no as we were signing the papers, because I knew we had something like 30 days to rescind! In the long run, it was the best thing we ever did. We love our DVC membership!

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for. It's just something I did for my last trip. The pictures aren't great, but the page looks really nice.

I just used the cover of the packet they give at check-in, trimmed it to size and mounted on a regular 12x12 sheet of scraping paper, then decorated the open space with stickers. Makes a nice title page.

I make at least one DVC page for each trip. I've used the packet cover (already shown), the welcoming letter, and the confirmation letter. I save all the things that DVC mails us during the year, including the postcard after the trip, and put them together with photos to make some great pages. Don't ever throw anything away!

Since it looks like all of us on this thread are DVC members, I have to tell you a funny DVC thing that happened to me this morning. I have the day off of work today, and I had an appointment to take my dog to the groomers. When I take him in, I always just wait in the waiting room, so that he doesn't have to be caged until I come back to get him. So as I'm heading out this morning, I grab the Winter 2005 issue of Vacation Magic so that I have something to read while I wait. I have been soooo busy because of the holidays and everything else, that I never got around to looking at it.

I'm sitting in the waiting area reading about all the great stuff that went on for the holidays and wishing that we had made it down there this year, when all of a sudden I recognize a familiar face in the Epcot Candlelight Processional picture on page 7! It's my daughter singing! She had gone down there with her high school chorus in December of 2002 to sing at this event, and we had gone down to see her. For the first show, she was standing in the second row (which is when this picture was taken), and for the second show, she was in the first row (until she blacked out in the middle of the performance...she was fine...I was a basketcase because they wouldn't let me go backstage to check on her!). There she is in my Vacation Magic singing (she's the first one on the left in the picture if you still have your magazine)! I can't believe that this has been sitting on my coffee table for a month or more and that I never knew she was in there! Not only that, it think it is funny that the Vacation Club just happened to choose this picture to put in there never knowing that there was a DVC member in the picture! This certainly made my day! :)

I'll have to look at the mag again, to see the photo. Are they trying to say it was part of THIS year's celebration?

This is one idea for a DVC layout -- copy parts of Vacation Magic Magazine. I do it all the time. Also, a few issues ago, the back cover had the best picture of Spaceship Earth that I've ever seen, with flowers, etc. in front.

No, this edition of Vacation Magic was mailed out in either November or early December and I just never got around to reading it. They were just letting everyone know what holiday activities were available in case you had an upcoming trip, and because they were talking about the Candlelight Processional, they had a small photo of it next to the article. I was surprised that they used a picture from 2002, but I guess they use whatever is available...I just never would have guessed they would choose one from this particular show.
