We are traveling to bwv on 03/20/03 to 03/26/03 as first time dvc members. We very excited but have a few questions. We are staying in a one-bedroom preferred view. Can you see any fireworks from any room and can you see any of the boardwalk from this view? I also read that they offer room service. Has anyone ever tried it before? If yes, what do they serve? One last thing, how are the crowds around this time.

Thanks,

Is your preferred view boardwalk view or pool/garden view? If you're not sure, you can check with member services, they have updated old reservations made before they split it out. If you did not receive an updated reservation, chances are it's pool/garden.

Here is the room service menu:

I've never tried it, but watch for the additional charges at the top.

call member services now and ask for a BW view - these are now guaranteed - but you must ask - otherwise you get a pool or garden view.

I like their room service.

Crowds - can vary greatly - it depends upon how many high schools and colleges have that week for spring break and how many that do have it go to WDW.....

I think based on trying to get a reservations (reasonable priced) that it will be crowded that week. Not certainly - but that is how it looks now.

hope you have a great time - that Sun is my birthday so I might be there - just depends....

Not all rooms at BWV have fireworks views or Boardwalk views.. "Preferred: Garden view" at BWV means any room without a view of the parking lot... "Preferred: Boardwalk view" at BWV is a view of the boardwalk. DVC instituted a new policy a few months ago stating that if you want a view of the Boardwalk, you have to make the request with MS at the time of making the reservation....

The few times that I have booked "Preferred: Garden view" have been nice... On one instance we faced the canal and the Swan and Dolphin, and on the other time, we faced Luna Park Pool.

I personally always try to book the "Standard view" whenever possible... The Standard view is nice, and spending the extra points on the better view is hard for me to justify....

Good luck, and have a great time!! :earsboy:

A couple of other suggestions:

Boardwalk is within walking distance to Epcot. You may just want to stroll over for the fireworks.

There are a lot of great restaurants on the Boardwalk. Try a couple.

Also, on Boardwalk, there is a little bar called Jelly Rolls. Many nights they have dualing piano's, which is a great & relaxing show. (There is a cover charge.)

Just thought I would throw in some quick suggestions for your first trip! :hyper:
