I was at this fun little Cuban place in Montclair nj and had a yummy red wine sangria. It was light and sweet and grapey and fruity. I'd like to make some but dont want to buy a bunch of types of alcohol ill never use again. Who has some recipes?
I don't have a specific recipe and I don't make an authentic sangria by I usually just get wine and either juices (like ocean spray , the mixed ones) or frozen juice concentrate and ginger ale or seltzer, then throw in a bunch of fruit. If I had white wine, I'd get a white grape/peach juice, red I'd get a red juice (like crab/pom).
2 oranges
2 lemons
1 pkg of strawberries sliced and covered with sugar probably a cup
Let stand the whole day
Next day add fruit to wine/rum mixture
Chill and enjoy
My Modifications to make with no added sugar:
Any mixture of fruit and berries but I always add at least 2 sliced lemons
Slice up fruit and put into a zip loc bag with 1 cup 50 percent sugar orange juice and 1/2 to 1 cup splenda. Let sit in Fridge a few hours.
Add to 3 to 1 wine/rum minture. Chill. It is even better the next day. I love raspberries, lemon, lime and oranges.
1 750 mL bottle riesling
1 750mL bottle prosecco (or a dry champagne)
1 cup grapefruit juice
1/2 cup simple syrup
1/2 cup club soda
1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries
1 grapefruit, cut into chunks/slices
Directions:
Place fruit in a large pitcher then combine remaining ingredients and pour on top. Refrigerate an hour or so before serving.
