Hi,
I currently have a Nikon D70 with multiple lenses and it is such a pain to drag around the parks. I'm looking for a good compact digital all around camera for WDW. It needs to take good shots indoor and outdoors. It also needs to be fast. I don't want to loose a lot of shots because it took too long to take a picture. I also need some type of telephoto capability. Also, nothing over $300. Is that possible? What is the best camera?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

It sounds like you are looking at a bridge camera. The Canon S2 and S3 are very popular. The Sony H2, H5, H7, and H9 are other options that many like. Fuji also has some nice models, but do not have IS if that is important. There are also other brands, but these are the ones I hear about the most. I have a Canon S2 and had the S1 before it. I now have a Pentax K100D, so the S2 is mainly used by the DW and DDs.

Compared to using your Nikon, you are going to be disappointed with the quality, capabilities, response, etc. Low light shots are where the DSLR really beats the p&s. It is just going to come down to if the convenience is worth the sacrifice. Go out any try one to see how you feel about it. I plan on bringing both on my trip.

Yes, we will definitely plan on bringing both cameras. I'll carry the DS, but my dh wants a compact camera for himself because sometimes we go our separate ways when our kids want to go on different ways.
