Going to WDW for the first time Jan. 18-26, 2002. Travelling with 4 and 5 year old and staying at PO/FQ as reccommended by TA. Any tips would be appreciated. Would like to attend Cirque du Soleil. Where is the best place to get tickets, where are best seats and is this a suitable show for children?

ok ok let me think...

fast pass...use it!

buzz lightyear ride...do it ( i even say drag your child kicking and scraming if you have to, they will love it)

fun foods....whispering canyon for breakfast at WL (they have a fun boat ride over to the magic kingdom), hoop dee doo revue (book now), liberty tree tavern for dinner in MK, chef mickeys for breakfast (a lil over rated but still fun), 50's cafe at mgm, pizza planet for counter service at mgm, rose and crown at epcot (make the ps for 7:30, it has to be 7:30, then request an outside table for illuminations), cape may at BC, coral reef at epcot (arrive early and ask to wait for a tank side table, its all about the tank side table).

do epcot backwards. ahev a "late" breakfast at the boardwalk, then walk over to the world showcase at 11 when they open. walk around the world. then do the front of epcot mid afternoon, when the crowns are making their way to the WS. you will have the place to yourselves. dont forget the kid stops in each country. also get each child a passport ot be stampes in each country, my son loved this.

dont take your kids on alien encounter even if they are tall enough. they are way to young for the max scare of the ride.

Get to the parks before they open. Be inside when they drop the ropes to let you enter the different lands. We did this two weeks ago and it worked great. The MK had some characters out befor the park opened down near the castle. Our kids loved to get their autographs and take pictures.

Use the fasspass. When you use one get another one. They work great. Get to MGM before they open and head for the fasspass for Rock n Roller coaster and go from there to ride the TOT. We were on the TOT within 10 minutes and the return time for RR was less than an hour.

I agree keep small kids off Alien Encounter.

Plan ahead of time and know what you want to do. Be willing to change but know what is there before you get there. We saw so many people standing looking at the park map wondering what to do next.

I don't know if they will be bad in Jan or not but take bug spray. In all the years we have been to WDW we never took bug spray and we got eaten alive this year. I will pack it from now on.

Have a great trip!

Hi! We just got back from WDW and took our 3 and 4 yr. old daughters to Cirque du Soleil. They loved it as much as we did. I think just about any seat is good with the way the theater is designed. We sat just left of center, closer to the top of the theater - (sorry, can't remember rows or sections). Also, I didn't realize it or think about it - but they do serve popcorn and other snacks at the show - I don't know why I didn't think about that - don't all circuses have popcorn??? I guess I was in the mindset of a theatrical show - which it still is!!! I would recommend a good period of rest before you see the show - at least my 3 year old could have used more - she got a little antsy at parts, but wasn't bad - she didn't disrupt the show or anything. I think that is part of being three, though!!! Anyway, it was our 1st time seeing Cirque du Soleil and it was fantastic and mesmerizing - enjoy!!!!
