Looking For Fantasyland Tips

Does anyone have a good order/plan for the Fantasyland rides. We went in Nov. 2003 (Thanksgiving) - got there right at opeining and rode Small World with a small wait (15 - 20 min.) then had to wait 30 - 90 minutes for all of the rest!!

I felt bad for my children who just resigned themselves to wait in these lines to see the things that they had been waiting for for so long. We almost gave up on Peter Pan, but hung in there and finally rode after an hour and a half.

It was pretty much the same at the other parks for that Thanksgiving week. At Epcot the Test Track fastpasses were all gone by late morning. Hoping that April 9th - 16th will be a bit lighter crowd, but if not - I want to be prepared. Thanks!

Not an expert but this worked for us at a 9:00 opening. Send someone to get FP for Pooh and ride Dumbo first, Carousel, Mickey Philarmagic as it was starting then SW. We did not ride Snow White or Peter Pan.
I hope someone else has ideas for you too.

Get there when the park opens, get a fast pass for any ride then go immediately to dumbo. Dumbo is the slowest loading ride so that is one of the first rides you should get one. It's a small world is a very fast loading ride so I would put that at the bottom of the list. After dumbo, just hit snow white, peter pan, pooh in whatever order and then use your fast pass for what ride you got it for.

This is our experience. Save IASW for last as the line is always the shortest in Fantasyland; same with the carousel.

First send someone fo Fastpass for either Peter Pan or Pooh; whichever you want to do more.

Then head to Dumbo, then the other of the two rides you didn't get a fastpass for because it will get more crowded as the day goes on. If the line is already too long, then wait (and do fastpass later when you can) and head to the other rides starting with Mickey Philarmagic, Snow White, and Carousel. Then head to your fastpass. Meanwhile be sure and get the fastpass for which ever one you want.

When the park opened,we went straight to Peter Pan,got right on,and as soon as it was done,went right over to Pooh. We had to wait a bit for Dumbo,and then we were done for FL.I didn't do Mickey's Philarmagic,don't remember seeing it.Will do it next visit.

I don't think that Peter Pan had Fastpass in 2003 - I'm so glad to hear that they have it now! That ride really needed it. Did any other rides in Fantasyland get introduced to Fastpass?

I have a policy to never ride Peter Pan without a fast pass. It is a slow loader, not as bad as Dumbo, but more different ages ride PP than ride Dumbo so I think it is just more popular.

I believe only Peter Pan, Pooh and Philarmagic have Fastpass in Fantasyland.

Lorelai, I just saw your question about fastpasses in Fantasyland. I have a guidemap from last week. Three attractions there have fastpass: Peter pan, Mickey's Philharmagic and Winnie the Pooh.

We aren't experts, but we seem to have gotten our FL plan down to a science. We've never really waited more than 20 minutes for anything (and that was rare)...now I have probably jinxed us for our May trip!

Of course, we try to get to MK before park opening and head right to FL.

Our plan usually goes something like this...

Get FP for PP (if crowded, if the wait time is less than 20 min. we wait and get FP for Buzz)
Dumbo
Pooh (usually not crowded, so we sometimes ride twice)
PP
IASW

We then head to Tomorrowland for Buzz and TTA (both faves of my DSs).

Usually it is close to 10am, so we head to Toontown for opening.

If we are doing Splash Mountain, we will go to get a FP for that pretty early in the day, as well.

We don't do Mickey's Philharmagic right away, because the theater holds so many people we've never had a long wait. We just show up about 10 minutes before the next show begins. It is also nice to save this for late morning/early afternoon because the theater is nice and cool, so it gets you out of the heat. Usually after MP, we head out for lunch.

If your kids are Toy Story fans, make sure to go to Frontierland for the meet and greet with Woody and Jessie. Buzz can be found in Tomorrowland.

If you have an energetic adult/older child in the group who is not interested in fantasyland rides send them ahead for fastpasses for the next land. My husband does this for us all day long. You are able to have two fastpasses at one time if the first ones time is past by one minute. DH must walk an extra couple of miles than we do throughout the day and he loves it. We end up being able to walk on a lot of rides.

Good question!

The first FP's are for 10:00 am, right? So, I am thinking, grab a FP for PeterPan (it gets a long line very quickly, right...) Do Dumbo, and other Fantasyland stuff... Hit Toontown when it opens at 10:00 am... Sending DH to Frontierland for FP's there, for Big Thunder. (DH is not the kind who would care as much to miss Toontown! )

At Toontown, I know my son will have to ride Goofy's Barnstormer... I think he will LOVE this! Then actually use the FP for PeterPan, and all of us head to Frontierland.

I am sooooo excited planning all this!

We were just there this last week and this is what worked for us. If your kids aren't to tired, go on Dumbo during the fireworks! My kids were able to ride twice with only a 5-10 min. wait. The nights that MK was opened late we walked onto a lot of rides w/ very minimal wait. I love the fastpass...we pulled them about 45 min. before a parade and then you are ready to walk on another ride after the parade. I would definetely get a fastpass first thing when you get there in the morning. I also kept our parade spots while by DH took the kids to see Country Bears. Oh, don't miss Mickey Philharmagic...it was one of my family's favorites! We watched it several times!
