Looking for extra magic hour opinions

Do you think it is busier to go to the park that has the am magic hours or the pm magic hours - or do you think most people go to 1 park in the morning for the am extra hour and switch to the one with the pm extra hour?

Really, it depends on the park. For instance, I find that the Magic Kingdom is going to be crowded at any time, but generally, with the extra magic hours, there are more people in the early am hours rather than the later pm hours (cause the little ones will go to bed early). But, Epcot or MGM, early or late, doesnt matter, cause during the extra magic hours, there seems to be virtually no wait for any attraction. Of course, the major draw back to the later extra magic hours is that, when you leave the park, you are leaving with everyone else staying at a Disney Resort, which means you'll be waiting a long time for a bus.

But, in short, generally whether is morning or night, any time during extra magic hours is a good time to be in the park, cause its generally never that busy.

I think it also depends on the time of year. We were there the end of May and went to MGM for the late EM Hours. We got there in the late afternoon and didn't wait more than 10 minutes for TOT and RnR. BUT - just before the late EM Hours started, people began just pouring into the park. At 11pm, there was over an hour wait for RnR and TOT when a few hours earlier, we were only waiting 10 minutes. I couldn't believe the massive crowd for late EMH. It was crazy, and I probably wouldn't waste time doing that again.

Our experience has been that the morning EMH helps you see more attractions in a shorter amount of time. It seems like people don't want to get up early while they're on vacation. On November 5, 2005 (a Saturday), we went to the morning EMH at Epcot. We got FPs for Soarin' and went straight to Test Track from there. We rode Test Track twice with no wait and Mission Space with no wait before our FP time for Soarin'. At the Magic Kingdom, we always try to experience the Fantasyland attractions in the morning EMH. In August 2005, we were able to ride Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World, and Snow White before the crowds got unbearable.

The evening EMHs enabled us to ride things too, but they seemed, to us, to be more crowded than the morning EMH.

Based on my sole experience last Feburary (going again this February), morning EMH is the way to go. Evening EMH is much more of a crap shoot, as we found it not very useful at EPCOT and AK(most FP's went very fast, and standby was 60-75 minutes), but MGM and MK were much better.

I also echo that the latter it gets (such as midnight at MK), the better off you are. Kids start dropping like flies around 10 or 11.

By the same token, either the kids or the parents don't want to get up early (6:00am for a good early EMH day), so the mornings can be very nice. Once the crowds hit after morning EMH, we hit one of the other parks that DOES NOT have the evening EMH. It worked well in the past, it will be interesting to see if it works well this February.
