DW and I are taking our 8 kids to WDW in January. We like to take our time when going through the World Showcase. To help keep the kids interested I am trying to put together a sort of scavenger hunt. Maybe using a camera. Does anyone know where I could get a list of hidden or hard to find items? Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks!!

I don't have any suggestions although it sounds like fun. Why don't you have them do the kid stop masks at every country? My kids loved going from country to country to get their stamp and color their masks some more plus other "surprises" some countries added.

Wow, 8 kids! I bow down to you, truly! I can barely handle my 3. Have a fantastic time...

They might have some good hidden Mickey's in the countries.

Has a list of countries and stuff, maybe you could get some inspiration there.

Good luck, and that sounds like a lot of fun for your kids! ::MickeyMo

I would suggest doing the mask activity too. My kids did this last January when we went. You can even have the people in the different countries write your kids names on the back of their masks in the language from that country. My kids enjoyed seeing theirs in Japanese, Arabic, etc.

There was a thread here a while ago about kids learning to say "hello" in every language represented around the World Showcase. That would be a great educational project! The international CM's love it!

As for a scavenger hunt with a camera, they could take a picture of something that best represents each country to them.

Have Fun! :sunny:

Did you say 8 (e-i-g-h-t) kids? God bless you!

scavenger ideas to find or take pictures of

menu from a restaurant at one or 2 countries
the maze in UK
the model train track (I forget what country)
a living statue (italy i think now)
the candy lady (china)
find a specific candy bar in a country (like kindershokalde in germany for example)
a croissant
a pickle christmas ornament (germany)

there are hundreds of other ideas out there, i'm sure.

Just got back from WDW and the model train is in Germany.
Sadly, the living statues are gone.
The candy lady is in Japan.

My kids did the mask activity and loved it...they would take off to search for the place before we got to the next country...they couldn't wait.

Thanks Eljay! My heart was there but my mind was apparently elsewhere.
