I am taking my granddaughters to BBB as a surprise during our June trip. I dont want to do the traditional character dresses. It will be hot and I want something they can wear all day and be comfortable. We are eating at CRT afterwards. Anyone have suggestions or pictures of what your child has worn?

no picture, but I would get her a nice cotton shirt with her favorite princess and a tutu also in her favorite color, many online stores at Etsy sells disney inspired outfits. BBB is a beautiful experience enjoy the day!

That is what I did for my older daughter. She was 7 I think and a little old for the princess dresses but still loved the experience. Love etsy!! I have been scouring their site looking for ideas. Hoping someone will post a picture to push me one way or the other lol

Yes, BBB is a lot of fun...Sounds like a wonderful surprise!

I was also going to mention Etsy...my daughter was never of fan of the traditional princess dress (too itchy!). I found her a great cotton sundress on Etsy inspired by Mulan - if I can find a pic I'll post it. If you do a search, you'll find all kinds of things! We've also gotten a lot of more casual "upcycled" princess/Disney dresses from Etsy, that have been made from a t-shirt - comfy and fun!

ETA: I feel like I see a lot of cute and comfortable Disney stuff at Target too beyond just the t-shirt, such as dresses and such...

Not sure how old they are but maybe they could try the idea of Disneybounding. Google it if you're not familiar. It's a bit more subtle so older girls might prefer that. Like I said, not sure of the girls ages. Have fun together!

I don't have a daughter but agree you can't beat etsy. I will tell you that when I read your thread the first thing I thought was easter clearance. You might want to wait until the end of April and check out easter dress clearance. You can probably find a cute light weight stress that she will be comfortable wearing all day in the park. Enjoy BBB. Be sure to post a picture

They are 5 and 6. Very much the princess age. But I will check out disneybounding Thank you!

Who are their favorite princesses? Outside of just sundresses and Disney bounding, Etsy has some really cute short sleeved cotton versions, or sometimes soft satin dresses, of the actual character dress- I know I've seen Cinderella, Anna, Elsa and Alice in Wonderland. I'm sure there are others. There is also a website called littledressupshop that has softer versions of the princess dresses. They are cooler because they don't have all the tulle, are not itchy, but still have the full princess style. That said, I don't know how Princess crazy your granddaughters are, but at age 5 and under, my DD would not care how hot it was- she wanted full traditional Princess dress on and would wear it all day at WDW.

They really love any princess. I think I remember someone posting about the littledressupshop. I will check it out. I am going to buy them the same dress as to avoid issues. Lol

They sell "costume pajamas" through the Disney store. They look like the costumes, but without all the extra tulle and scratchy material so they're cooler and much more comfortable. My daughter doesn't last long in the costumes because they itch but will literally wear the PJ version for days on end.

One thought, have they done BBB a lot? If not, I would recommend more of the traditional costumes. The last time we went (ages 7 and 9), they were just going to do the tutu. Once at MK and seeing all of the girls dressed up and the excitement of BBB, they ended up each doing the package with the dress, wand, etc. It is so magical at that age.
As for the costume, we have been in 90 degree weather and the girls were fine. We bought a personalized parasol for them that matched their costume when standing in the sun.

Good luck! I'm sure they will be thrilled!

They have not done it and I did consider the actual princess dresses but they have every princess dress at home so I'm not sure it would be a big deal to them?? They play dress up all the time.
