opinions from different people who may have stayed at these places,

info about: can you walk easily from a specific property to the Marketplace (like the hilton)

can you made your adr's at the 90 day mark for the whole week, or do i have to call every day on the 90th day

just how bad or how good is the park transportation

anything else you want to share! thanks!

adding: I think that the Hilton and Grosvenor (now called Regal Sun) are the only walking distance to Downtown Disney, right? ( i am thinking in terms of going to the parks when the 1ce every half hour bus isn't at the hotel...walk to downtown and then get a bus)

I've stayed twice at DTD properties. The Regal Sun (when it was the Grosvnor sp?) and once at Royal Plaza. DTD was an easy walk for two adults. The six properties share two bus circuits. Meaning a bus will pick up and drop off from 3 different hotels on a schedule of every 30 minutes or so. Be advised that the return bus stops can be a bit remote. I don't remember which park it was but the bus stop was in the middle of the parking lot!

I like the DTD hotels because I like room service and these hotels offer a tad more room space at a reasonable price. That said, I found that sometimes with a package I can stay on site at the CSR (room service :cool1: ) at a better price. I love the KTTW and would rather spend a little more if necessary to stay there.

As for dining, it's 90 day for the whole week.

Hope that helps...
Rosie

ps-when comparing prices be sure to figure in hotel service fees ($12 a day I think AND the fact that you cannot use DME so you'll have to pay for airport transportation)

that does help, Rosie! Thanks!

I stayed at CSR last time.. and LOVED IT. I have POFQ figuring that i have more chances to switch OUT of that to CSR (or even...POP) if need be, rather than trying to switch IN since its smaller.

LOVED CSR!!!

I am just trying to keep my options open, kwim? I will do some price comparisons, but if its close, then Disney owned will be money better spent i think....

Did you see my PS about resort fees and DME? I edited it in....

no but i found that on line, some are $8 some more. GASP

it just doesn't make sense. and add another $90 r/t for airport transfer and then the fact that i can't do dining plan if i so choose....

I think it would be great for someone that wants to be as close to disney without 100% disney 100% of the time, also modern and large rooms, lcd tv's, etc.....

the pricing comes out just at or just slightly lower (not factoring in DME and day fees) than what I already have at POFQ.

I am still glad I looked into it. :O) and it still may be an option if others who are thinking of going with us, do decide to...we can stay together and save some money that way. :O)
