Looking for Dancing Elephants

Looking for the DL 45th Anniversary Parade Dancing Elephants pin. I've looked everywhere. any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You are soo funny. You've caught up with me. How embarassing. Well, OK, the gigs up. I'm thinking of starting to collect the Alice in Wond...series and the Fantasia pins (still like that drunk eley in dunmo, thou). and even though the dancing GRAY elephants don't belong, I just love the sillyness of it! Thought about it over night, decided to get that little pin, went back to the site..............IT'S GONE. Some silly little pin the vedor didn't even know what it was, now I want it..andit's gone Oh well, just makes finding it that much sweeter when I do!

So what do you have of Alice so far?

My local Disney store has a bunch of the LE series on clearance right now. Maybe all stores do as well, and this is no big deal. But if you do need them, I'd be happy to pick them up for you. I know they have everything but Alice.

Also, they have the Dumbo series as well, with your ugly friend Pinky. Do you need him?

You're not saying the DS has pins from the different parks, are you? I thought the DS only got DS pins. I thought ONLY the park (or resort, whatever) got that particular pin, whatever it might be. Gee the White Rabbit LE pin (if it's the one I'm thinking of) is perfect. He has a clock, is that the one? How can you tell what size they are simply from a picture on a website? Just wondering.......

Let's see, I have the Cheshire cat LE, but the rest are just the open stock. Hm.. I have Alice standing with book, Mad hatter pouring tea (wanted one with him holding the flamingo as playing crouquet, but I don't think they make one like that), standing catepillar (no brush). I want the rabbit with the clock, the playing cards, the teapot mouse (looks funny), and Queen. I just thought the dancing elephants would be silly. I love the older Disney flicks.

I hate to think I have to dash your hopes. These are the boxed LE series from the Disney Gallery.

They are pinpic's #3663-3668, and 4196-4198. They are out of Alice, and I can't remember if they have the Cheshire Cat, but I'm pretty sure about everything else. They are all just the heads of the characters, and are a LE 5000 each. They are all half price at $4 now.

I'm not too into Alice, but I bought a bunch for trading w/ CM's b/c they were so cheap.

No problem, doll. I would have been happy to buy them if you needed them. Ii don't think they are the nicest looking ones available, but they are great for putting on a CM's lanyard - $4!

Do you not have a Gallery store near you? I think they always have at least one series available there (regular price). Right now they have a Snow White series, which is just okay, and a classic Pooh, w/ the old fashioned drawings, which is really cute. I just have no interest in Pooh, so I skipped it.

Let me know your Gallery situation. I'd be happy to keep an eye out for you for new stuff.

I know you're a newbie as well. How new? Do you have a big collection? Where do you buy and trade?

I am very new to this-I bought my first pins on Saturday! But I'm pretty into it. I'd love to collect Maleficent, but I'm getting discouraged about it because it seems I'm not alone.

Time to take DD to gymnastics!

I don't have extra elephants, but I just pulled out my set, there are pink dancing elephants, and pink dancing hippos. Only have one of each. I collected all the parade pins off castmember landyards the first week of Sept in DL at the Disneyana Convention. I had so much fun, and I used a lot of FREE blue bird pins as traders. I am missing the Tarzan float. I do have extras of the princess float and the Belle Rose Float.

I'm not really a good collector. (I'm not a bad collector either ). I just collectingthe ones I like. wish I could help you out with your float pins. Are you sure theelephants andhipos are PINK ? I've only seen 1 pink elephant and he is from Dumbo (they got a couple good characters too) the ones I've seen are gray in color with pink tutu's on.

No, I don't collect UGLY elephants, although I agree, that is one UGLY pin. In fact, I don't think much of that whole Dumbo series. But Icertainly don't think the pink dancing elephants is ugly, bizarre maybe, but I think they're too cute.

I agree, that Dumbo series is no too exiting.

But I admire your selectivness! The way my mind works is that if I'm collecting Mulan, for instance, then I feel compelled to buy every Mulan pin possible, just to make my collection more complete. Which is stupid.

All of the advice I've been getting is to buy what you like, which was my original intent. But then it is so easy to get wrapped up in a "theme", and then it just snowballs and you end up with a large collection, half of which are U-G-L-Y pink elephants!

You are a smart lady. Thanks for being a good example!

No, if I have only one pin representing that in character in the group that I collecting, I TRY and make sure that's it's one that I LOVE . However, I've found that the groups that I want to collect is growing and growing and growing...... Now I'm think of Fantasia as I've said. THEN, last night I saw THE picture of Maleficent's DRAGON. My DD does dragons!!!! Now I see why everybody wants this pin So, you collect just Maleficent or the whole Sleeping group? Boy, that Snow White group sure is tempting all those adorable little elves!!
