The only think is my car is now caked in salt :headache: I can't remember us ever EVER getting snow in March. This is really odd for us. I'm sure schools will be closed since we have snow days to burn. The roads are very clear though. The only problem will be the melting/refreezing on backroads.

Carlos got the bright idea to move Mia out of the crib into the toddler bed & sell the crib in the yard sale. Well, for nap today, she let him know she wasn't having that at all. I'm going to tell him let's sell the toddler bed. I think she will be fine with it until she is ready for a big bed She is not a climber like Nicolas was. I put her back in the crib and she was fine.

ERIN - Are you booked with the plane tickets? How exciting!!!!

ERIN - Are you booked with the plane tickets? How exciting!!!!

Grgrggrgr the group sales people only work Monday to Friday .. how ridiculous is that ??!!
So will have to wait till tomorrow morning!! Oh well it WILL be done tomorrow hahaha i cannot wait any longer :lmao:

First of all, anyone hear if Jilian got off okay? She was supposed to leave at 2 but thinks they were gonna be delayed until tonight or tomorrow because of the snow.

Lorrie - that is a lot of snow for you guys, isn't it? I know my inlaws were supposed to get 2-4 inches today. Another reason I'm glad Jeff didn't drive up there this weekend. He wouldn't have left early to avoid it, and once it starts snowing in SC, EVERYTHING shuts down.....

ERin - my crazy friend from across the pond, what is "arvo?"

Cammie - well? whatdja find?

I am still here we don't leave until tomorrow. So far flights are going out of Boston. So we will see. I am so tired I have been running around all day long got a pedicure etc.... Everything is packed and under the 50lb mark so WooHOO Just need Luca's pillow.

Ooh if you go to see He's just not that into you can let me know what it's like am thinking of going to see that soon

Cammie i really really feel for you and the girls for having to deal with all this, it's not an easy situation for any of you, well done to Lauren for handling it so well .. i will be facing a similar situation as Cj gets older i found out about 18 months ago that her dad had a baby with a new partner, she has nothing to do with her dad so at the moment i haven't told her but i know i am going to have to sometime soon and this totally fills me with dread :scared1:

I just hope that 1 day i will meet someone else and she can have the Dad she deserves and maybe a brother or sister too that she will have a relationship with :sad2:

Didn't get to see "He's Just not into you". My friend, who's also divorced, had her ex flake on her, and she needed to pick up her daughter by 10. So we had to see an earlier movie; saw Gran Torino - w/Clint Eastwood. You guys - OMG - so good and so powerful and sad! I'm telling ya - I'm not always the first one who wants to see an Eastwood movie but........after this one, and Million Dollar Baby, and Mystic River ........ I think I'm officially a fan. I was bawling at this one (like I do at all of his!) I highly recommend it!:thumbsup2

I hope you find that special person too, Erin. But, if you don't, don't worry - I believe Chloe, and my girls, are just as well off having a very strong mother like ourselves. I'm just a little sad though; I always wanted to have another baby; this pregnancy may bring out some resentment in me.

Did you hear that there were flight delays in Boston? It's snowing but very lightly; nothing like they had predicted at all!

And, I'm still looking at flights. I looked into flying to you on Friday and flying out of Orlando on Monday, but that was over $200. I'll keep playing with it. I swear, the more I keep talking about it, the more I'm thinking it's going to happen!

I think Jillian is leaving tomorrow? Not sure..... She said her flight left at 2 so it must be tomorrow - tonight and tomorrow is when the snow hits, right?

Cammie - don't leave until Tues so you can go on the safari on Monday night!!! I plan to leave out fairly early, so I can get you to the airport in Orlando, or if later out of Jacksonville. Just let me know! Did you talk to Ellen?

hi there home from our adventure. We decide we will need two rooms next time we go to WDW. Tough night. the girls didn't sleep well.

The waterpark wasn't very clean neither was the hotel. I'm composing a letter to the GM of the chain to express my disappointment in the service we got. Under no circumstance should the front desk yell at anyone. i'm a pretty calm person so I kept my cool. they offered to comp waterpark tickets that they knew we already had. Nice. I suggested they give us a room credit or something they said no. I gave them the opportunity to fix what happened and they chose not to so nah-nah! Now off to compose that letter

Hehehehehe :lmao: again loving the differences in our language although think arvo comes from Aussie slang for afternoon and as England is HEAVILY influenced by Aussie culture we have many of their words

Oh you are so so right i am definitely raising my girl to be a very strong woman i just hate it that they have to deal with crap!
Oh me too i felt the same when i found out Chloe's dad was having another baby .. although i wouldn't have had another 1 with him if someone had promised me all the tea in china :scared1:
So you totally have my sympathies and feel free to be as mad and resentful as you like

Oh man Laura that sucks big style and absolutely appalling of the front desk to be so damn rude to you .. awful awful .. Sorry that happened on your weekend away

Hi Ladies....
How has the weekend been for all of you? Crazy for different reasons I see!

Cammie...I would be upset too so VENT all you want! I feel bad you have to deal with it at all.
Laura..that sucks about the water park dilemma! What a pain!
Tammie...time flies! I hate it!
Kara...
Jillian...cool beans on the luggage. Hope everything is smooth sailing tomorrow!
Renee...how are you feeling? I need to go back more and catch up.
Erin....too bad you couldn't book! Tomorrow will be exciting though!
Newbies.....glad you are here! Hope we can be helpful.

Well, I have had some good luck! First off we got our tax money back so that is helping with the money situation and more importantly I have been watching airfare and it has gone down. A big part of the reason I didn't think we could go anywhere was because airfare was so high out of O'Hare. Well, we found fares so low for October that we just took them!!! We didn't want to have any regrets. 150.00 Each!!!!! The Good news is that the flights are to Florida but the bad news is it's to Ft Myers instead of Orlando. We can't really afford to do our regular WDW trip this year. So here's where I need your help! We can either go for 2-3 nights in WDW in the middle of our Naples trip in October or we can TRY and go to WDW the second week in June. Now this may sound pricey but the airfare was down to Orlando at that time and I would go with my Mom in June and share the room expenses with her. I tried a whole bunch of buy 4 get 3 free options for June and they were all gone except for Key West and Saratoga....any thoughts?

OK GIRLS! I thought friends are never to discuss religion or politics! What are you all living on the edge!

OK well here is my thing. I was born and raised Christian without being baptized (so according to some I will be going to purgatory when I die). My parents actually are Episcopalian. I did teach at a Catholic school for 12 years so when I got married I did get married in the church I worked for. Mark is Catholic and is not a practicing Catholic. He hated CCD and it ruined him from that point on. I then baptized my kids Catholic because the only thing about my up bringing that has been troublesome is the fact that I am not baptized. I don't want the kids to run into that when they get married or if we decide to send the kids to Catholic HS.

ITA with Kara. I feel parts of the Catholic religion are just silly! The communion thing ALWAYS has irritated me along with quilting people into attending church. I have always felt that what is the point of being in church if the whole time you are there you are crabbing, sleeping, dreaming about being somewhere else or worse yet resenting the fact you are in church!
Well, I could go on and on about this because I definitely see the plus side to church and the strong dedication the Catholics have to their church as well.
As for the TERRIBLE problem with the priests...it shouldn't happen anymore because unfortunately you can't leave your kids alone with pretty much any new adult like that anymore (in this day and time). Church, Gymnastics, Scouts......
My next dilemma in this regard will be next year when I have to decide on CCD and whether or not Elizabeth will be making her Communion.

OK NOW I HAVE IT! We can make are own church! Now I won't go as crazy as to start bringing Disney characters into but........

Oh, I want to throw up right now! I seriously have a pit in my stomach for you. I can't imagine what you must be feeling - I'm not gonna sugar coat it, it would killed me. Does Lauren know yet? Oh, you are in for a long road on this one I think. But I'm not worried about you - I think you are super strong and you'll take the high road. Seriously, feel free to call, text, or vent any way you want to!
And I hope she throws up for 9 months!!!!!
OK, this is near and dear to my heart. I grew up Lutheran and Jeff was Catholic. I vowed I would NOT raise Ally Catholic, and I'm not. I guess my hangup is some of what you said here. Why should I have to be remarried in the Catholic church? I was married in a CHRISTIAN church. Same with the godfather issue. I feel that if you are a CHRISTIAN, then it shouldn't matter which denomination. Jeff and I have this discussion a LOT because there is a Catholic church right down the road and he has taken Ally a couple of time. They will not allow me to take communion because I am not catholic and that really disturbs me. Who are they to tell me that I was not taught properly? Why is their way the right way? Jeff understands my hangup and I did agree to go with him once. If I'm semi-comfortable there, we will sit down and discuss with a priest, and if they allow me to be a Christian in their church, without being catholic, i.e. recognize our marriage, recognize Ally's baptism, allow me to take communion, then i might consider it. Otherwise, no dice.
I'm a big stickler for this. If we all fall under the Christian umbrella, why do they get to make their own rules and include/exclude? Sorry for going off on a tangent, it is just really a sore spot with me. AT our church in SC, our pastor always invited "all baptized Christians" to the Lords table for communion and Jeff really liked that.

This is all the stuff I agree with you about! Including your opinion on Cammie's situation.

OK, now I feel bad about posting that - I REALLY hope I didn't offend anyone!!!! You know I love you guys no matter what - even you democrats out there!!! :rotfl2:
You ARE very funny!

Ha!Ha! Your choice of smileys made me laugh!
I haven't fully processed it yet; not sure how Lauren is going to deal. This is just going to bring a whole new set of problems though. The ex tells me that "of course, he'll let Lauren and Amanda know that no one is more important than them." Lauren already feels like she plays second fiddle to the new wife; so I'm thinking things won't improve with a baby involved. All I know is that wife of his better keep her job because I don't want this new addition screwing up anything I get from him!
(don't know why the vomit smiley didn't show - that was my fave!)

This is gonna be a doozy but WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!

OK, y'all will think I"ve really lost it now. Well, if it weren't for Lorrie who is REALLY nuts!!!
Anywho, you know how I"m always begging for DVC (until this stupid economy ruined all my plans!!!), well Ally came home from school with some temp tattoos that she got from treasure box today. They are all Disney and one is the DVC logo - you KNOW I put that on my ankle!!!! Cause A) I'm so not a tattoo girl, and B) I'll do ANYTHING to get a DVC!

That sounds like something I would do!!!!!

Lorrie - I think we were posting at the same time - we were thinking the same thing!
Yes, the girls are with him. He plans on telling Lauren tomorrow; but she has a sleepover with friends so I'm thinking that would be good for her to vent if she needs. Which I'm sure she will because it sounds like she vents alot to her friends about him already!
Kara - I, too was looking for an Episcopal church; can't find one around me. (where are the Episcopalians hiding?) I always found them to be the most liberal of all. I've just had a bad feeling about the Catholic church since the whole scandal from a few years ago. Living here in Boston, as you can imagine, we heard alot of horrible things. Was embarrassed and disgusted. But I was born and raised Catholic my whole life - 12yrs.of Catholic school; church every Sunday; retreats, etc. But as I've grown older, I've started to question some of the things the church does, and doesn't, believe in. I don't want to get into my views and opinions about things but let's just say I'm not buying their high and mighty attitude anymore.

Yeah...I agree. If they could just lighten up they would get so many more parishioners!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Let the planning begin!!!! I can't imagine trying to get seats for that many people!

Hey Debbie! Congrats on the airfare! I wish we could find it that cheap! As for the trip in October - It seems like you'd be cutting your Naples time short, because you'll have travel time too.

As for June, you know I'd vote for SSR, just because it's our home resort! I don't have anything to compare. They are both on the same bus route. I like that SSR is walking distance to DTD, and they have the main pool with water slide, and then the small pool with the "squirty play area." And, if you can get Grandstand, its only 2 years old! I have been reading that OKW is looking a little worn, but the rooms are larger, and the theming is nice! I'm planning to check it out this trip.

Well apparently I'm oblivious. We're supposedly getting a blizzard tonite - 12-18 inches; school has already been cancelled tomorrow. I feel so bad for Jillian; I don't know what this will mean for her flight tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed everyone; she told me she'd text with updates.

Jillian - I hope your flight isn't delayed too late! The only good thing is that your vacay doesn't really start until tomorrow on property, right? How much snow did y'all get?

Looks like my inlaws got a few inches, too, so I'm sure all the schools are closed there and there's no bread and milk on the shelves! :rotfl2:

Gonna go paint the upstairs bathroom today, in between work.

Flight is only delayed 20 mins. I am expecting it to go out. They seem to have the roads clear.

Kara- You're right we stay at the Holiday inn tonight and off to CBR tomorrow. I am glad we did that so we didn't miss out.

Mike is out with the snowblower now after working a 24 I really don't think he will want to come back.

So he get's home today and says hmmm... Maybe you and the kids should have gone out last night and I could have gone later today. I suggested that yesterday, but he said no he wants to go out together.

Hope you all have a great week. I will try to live post and I will send texts while I am there.

Hey gang! MORNING!

Most of you will get to see where I live - well - sorta. I saw the commercial for that new Hannah Montana movie. Lot of it was shot near my house. The rolling hills and things you see are actually what we wake to each morning, so you can get a fairly good idea of where I'm posting from. :lmao: Actually, they really live just a bit from us. Believe it or not, before Hannah became big, I've bumped into Billy Ray several times at Kroger. I remember Miley very small conning him into buying TONS of ice cream. Him saying "Does your mom let you do this" and her saying "YES" :rotfl2: SURE!

What is probably what they like about here is most people just leave them alone. We actually have a lot of country movie and movie celebrities who live around here - so running into them is pretty common. I've never seen Ashley Judd though. I'd like to see how tiny she is in real life because on screen she looks like a stick!

OKAY. I need some HONEST tough talk this morning.

:confused3 Nicolas has his first soccer game Sat. He played in the fall, so knows what to do. For his league, they don't take score, etc. Practice will either be today or tomorrow at 5 pm. Today our high is 39 with a brutal North wind. Tomorrow 41. I so want to say no way to practice - but is it the right thing to do? :confused3
