Hiya all

Glad to be of help with the ideas Lorrie - and you are TOTALLY right - it is a girl thing isn't it - I would drop down dead with shock if it had been such a thoughtful pressie from hubby!!!!

Am sympathising with the vomit thing too Laura - hope she is feeling better soon ...... it is going round our school and am just waiting...... the things we put up with as parents.... I remember from toddler days - holding my skirt out to "catch it" and protect the carpet - you guessed it- messy carpet and messed up skirt, which incidentally I forgot was part of a dress and had to come off OVER my head - yeeuuughhghg - never ever do that!!!!!!!:crazy2:

Oh, and playing scrabble with kids is great - see their faces when you put down something remotely rude! poop or b**by are really good for the giggles.... at 6 and 8 years old I think the toilet level of humour might continue for a while.

oops - being stared at by an eight year old....think my screen time is up, got to set a good example!

Tessa

Tessa - I'm laughing so hard at both visuals!!!!

sounds like something I would have done. My girls are having tv time now. We've done all the puzzels and spellings words. Then nap time for all.

It is getting warmer, we may break freezing. We off to the lake to snowmobile. I am hoping she gets better soon

Hi all

Laura hope Beth feels better soon and stops the upchucking! :flower3:
Nothing i hate more than a vomiting child :crazy2: i'm with you Tessa i had a similar experience, only it was in the middle of the night just me and chloe in my bed .. yup you guessed it, i was covered from head to toe as was she as was my bed :crazy2: have to say i sat there for a couple of minutes wondering where to start :crazy2:

And i am totally the bad parent of the lot of us  .. Cj is the biggest tele head, loves it hahaha however she also plays board games, plays with her toys, plays outside as much as she can as long as its not raining, reads like a crazy person plus all the after school things she does so it really doesn't bother me at all that she also loves the tele :rotfl: in fact right now she is glued to the TV watching Ballet shoes  which she has also read hahahhahaha lovely lovely film.

Ok so the cold weather sucks and i officially have had enough of it
Am off to put my pj's on and snuggle up with my girl
Plus i have just realised that in 2 days time i will have to change her age on my siggie yikes!!!!!!!!

Oh, I can so top that - what about a case of severe stomach distress - your 9 month old son in the most lovely little onesie outfit - that has to come over the head! And Poop EVERYWHERE> So what did I do? Like Erin, I had to think a few minutes... blink back the tears because it was the one outfit I wanted to save for him - and cut it off. :sad2:

Either that or the poor child would have had face/head full of poo!

I've so done the over the head thing myself - but mine was to spare his bed - which got it anyway - and then I had to shower at 2 am. LOVELY!:sad2:

I've heard Boma is quite good - I'd like to try it. From what I've read the chefs really take a bit of pride in the cooking. Someone commented it just wasnt't for them and they were leaving a lot on the plates and the chef came to talk to them and see what he could do as explain the spices they were experiencing. I would very much like to try it - at least once.

I cleaned my living room rug today. Why I don't just rip it up and finish that room with hardwood is beyond me.... OH YEAH - It costs money! :lmao: Seriously though, the kids have ruined that carpet.

SO... house is spotless except my bedroom/bath and the bonus room. I'll get to that next week.

Based on our little talk, I was inspired to buy myself an hour and half of sanity each day. I'm going (as in it is going on right now) to put them both in their rooms - Mia naps for 2 hours - Nicolas was told he could play quietly or read :snooty: _ and it is my time for the computer, to shower or do whatever needs to be done. Then I can be more "present" for the rest of the time with them.

I think I just migh tbe on to something! ;)

Kara, Did I read right that you were running over to Disney for this weekend? Lucky Duck!

And my vote is to stay at the POLY. :p and RUB IT IN BABY! I'm not for that generally, but that BSIL of yours is a mess! The only way it could be even better is if you could get some FL resident rate that made it CHEAPER than what she was paying for the AS!

Okay, so decisions in planning~

Would you pitch a stay (probably 4-5 nights) next year at:

1. Base level room @ Poly with no rental car
2. Safari view room @ AKL with rental car
3. POP preferred room with renal car
4. Beach Club with no rental car

everythiing EXCEPT option 3 is the same.

DSIL acutally mentioned I might want to think about doing POP with two joining rooms and stick the kids in one, us in the other, which would be cheaper than a night at the others, but it seems silly.

Lorrie - I swear, I'm not that kind of person normally - she just bring out the absolute worst in me! I would love to get a better rate with FL discount. I would sooooo brag about it to her! I'm thinking of AKL now instead of CBR. It's a bit more than CBR but still less than Poly. And since we're eating at Boma, we could just head to our room after dinner, and talk about how we're gonna go sit on our balcony and watch the animals! :rotfl2: I know! I'm so bad!

So Ally just got home from school and I asked her about her day. She got in trouble AGAIN for talking! So I told her that now we can't do what I had planned for tomorrow. I told her I had planned to go to Disney for the day but now we can't go. She burst into tears. I think that's a good thing though!!! Maybe now she knows that I'm serious about this talking thing!

Oh kara i really feel for you .. I was always in trouble at school for talking always always, every report said "she talks to much" every parents evening "she talks to much" .. and now guess what i hear with cj ... yep you got it "she talks to much"
I had to sit her down and explain big style why it's not good and that i understood how sometimes it was too hard to shush (believe me i know how hard) but we all have to try, and i said when you go to speak think "do i need to say this now or can it wait till playtime" and her teacher said she dramatically improved, think she still talks a fair amount but just doesn't get in trouble as the teachers have got used to her and as long as she isn't disturbing others its not as bad

So yes i feel your pain

Lorrie - I would sooooo vote for Beach Club!!!! You do NOT need a rental car there. There is so much to do at the boardwalk, Epcot is there for the evenings - Ally loved wandering around world showcase with us when she had just turned 5, the first time she went. And the dining options there are great! Also, you can walk through Epcot to catch the monorail to MK..... And you can take the boat to HOllywood Studios. When we stayed at Yacht Club we had no problems with transportation. We took the bus to AK and MK and that was it. Of course, we were at Epcot every day!

Jeff just noticed that my status on facebook said I had booked two more weekends so he comes in and questions me about it. He's only mad because we just heard that State Farm may stop insuring homes in FL unless the state lets them jack up the rates. Great! As if we aren't already paying double what we paid in SC! And we know our house payment is going to jump up a LOT because they miscalculated our property taxes so our escrow is all messed up. Just waiting for that lovely letter to arrive. He told me his golf weekend wasn't even planned yet - I gently reminded him that I told him weeks ago that he'd better plan it because I needed to make resort reservations ASAP. Maybe one of these days he'll listen to me?

So BSIL wants to try Boma - she insists on a buffet so they don't have to pay for a meal for their youngest - he's 1 1/2. They are so incredibly cheap. Seriously, the two boys could share a kids meal - neither one eats much. And even if they didn't share - what is a kids meal? $8? Geez!

So with us going to Boma, I'm definitely gonna switch to AKL I think. But I'm gonna go meet up with another DISer later in May and crash on her couch at AKV so now I'm torn again. Stupid Disney drives me nuts - too many decisions!

Yes, Cammie, I just PM'd Ellen to confirm with her. I think it will be a blast!

Oh Kara! Good grief - this has got to be frustrating for you both! I'm sure she is sick of getting in trouble. I don't know what to say except I REALLY hope taking this weekend away works. Maybe what Erin suggested about waiting until playtime or lunch would work?

Or maybe she is just one of those kids who isn't going to respond to negative things. Maybe you have to make it positive. IF you get all positives for a week THEN you have EARNED the right to cheer that week, go to WDW - whatever. Rather than if you get a bad mark, then we won't. :confused3

I'm stumped - but Mia is chatty. She has babbled since she was little. Carlos use to call her Wookie - because she sounded like a wookie and babbled non stop. Now she talks non stop. Figure this out with Ally - because I"m sure I will need the help with Mia. ha ha.

But seriously~ I don't know what to tell you. SORRY!

Sitting down and talking it through always worked well with cj .. i found it so hard to be cross about this as i know myself how hard it was for me to deal with at school and to be honest i never really curbed it, i just found it too hard .. but you don't want her in trouble and am betting she doesn't either so maybe a reward thing would work after the taking away of cheerleading, say she has to earn these things back by not talking for a week and so on and so on

:offtopic: I'm just not one for the his/mine thing on the money, but let me tell you ... I've busted my rear on this deduction stuff - and whatever money we save is MINE! Seriously, I was the one up to 1 am doing it while he slept.

I KNOW that he would say forget this, if he had to do it. So if it weren't for me, we wouldn't have it - and I say this money is going into my WDW trip fund! ::yes::

Okay, rant over. :)

ps - i'm on the last of 7 spreadsheets - probably about 90 items to go and I'm done! WOO- Hoo!

Lorrie - I agree! Take that money for YOUR trip to WDW and just invite him to tag along! :rotfl2:

As for Ally, I don't know if she's a positive or a negative. We've tried both. I'm just tired of it. I think we've been more negative lately, taking things away, so maybe will try the opposite and see if it works. Thanx gals!

I'M DONE! :cool1: Now to see how much this means! :) I love the little estimator gadget. I'll report back in a second. I'd love to say it would mean an upgrade to a MK view or something, but I"m a little too cheap to pay $150 a night for that! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

HOLY SMOKE - if I'm right - $862 for my trouble! :cool1: Oh yeah baby!

Forget I EVER mentioned POP! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

OH YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!!!

I finallly had Mr. Carlos say - with Mia free, the buy 4/get 3 promo, maybe we should check out going this year.

Then the stupid website is down -they're updating the ressie system.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD PEOPLE!:crazy2:

So cruel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck Lorrie. Nothing is more fun then planning a WDW trip! I would keep calling though. You never know. Plus, why don't you get quotes over the phone?

Kara- I was a chatty one too. My mother took things away and it worked. So I think everyone is different you'll figure it out it seems like this disney thing may have shown her how serious you are.

Lorrie- Disney will work out and what about Wilderess lodge? The pricing is decent and you can take the boat or bus everywhere. I agree with Kara Beach Club seems like a good place.

So today has been eventful I bought a Minivan said I never would it's a Kia said I never would and it's not new it's a 2006 which I said I didn't want an older car, but guess what I loved it from the moment I set eyes on it. Then I broke my toe great huh??? It's my big toe on my right foot and it hurts to drive. I'm a mess. :lmao:

Disney is officially 30 days away:cheer2: :hyper:

Okay! POOR THING on the toe. Will it be well in time for your trip????? :flower3: I've broken the little toe, but the big one... :scared:

I like WL, but I think Carlos would complain about the theme. That is just my hunch, but I think of all the resorts, he'd be very unhappy there or at the GF (sorry Debbie).

So cruel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck Lorrie. Nothing is more fun then planning a WDW trip! I would keep calling though. You never know. Plus, why don't you get quotes over the phone?
They're updating the reservation system, so everything is down. It may be that update they were talking about last year where you can book adrs online - who know, but anyway - down until MONDAY! :sad2:

However, I am resourseful if nothing else, so I hopped my behind over to SWV to get pricing. ::yes::

Carlos is posing to me I can spend $3k - so I can either do 5 nights at a mod THIS MAY :hyper: or do 3 nights at POLY next MAY :hyper:

I don't know what to do. The price I am showing him includes Dining, Park tickets with hoppers, hotel & flights.

Decisions, decisions... so what is the gang's vote. Nicer hotel and 2 less days, or more days mod hotel? I'm leaning toward mod with more days. When Nicolas and I did 2 nights, it just went by so fast.

NOW, on the mods, I think I like the CBR theming better - but Kara, didn't you say that the CSR had great bus service? :scratchin
