Just a quick stop in. Call volume dropped. Its amazing that Chicago and MA are colder than MN. I think the world is messed up. I heard we are supposed to get shoveable snow this next week. doesn't the mother nature know it's spring Aghhhh!!!

Debbie sorry to hear about DS. Hopefully it is just a little something that will clear up soon. My DD loves HSM too. She just picked out sunglasses for trip that say HSM in rhinestones and I love troy on the side. They were too cute to pass up

Hi Laura!
I am sick of winter!!!!!! So sick!

Listen...I need you guys to all watch Big Brother the next time it's on (which will be in the summer). It is such a guilty pleasure and I want to talk you all about it! It is terrible!

I know I keep calling it winter and it's actually spring but you all know what I mean..............

10 pages!!!!! I feel so out of the loop! :rotfl2: Now I'll go back and read. I had a fun party with about 10 high school girls and a drunk mom tonight :thumbsup2 Still better than some other jobs I can think of! :lovestruc

Thanks Debbie for keeping us on track - I had forgotten some of those names - been a long time for some!

If any of you "MIAs" are out there, we'd love to hear from you!

Good morning!

Well, it's not snowing here like had originally been forecast; just pouring rain. Very gloomy day today. TGIF though.

Dealing with a dilemna in our house involving my ex. He wants to take my girls away for part of their April break. No place fun though; wants to take them to Michigan to visit with his new wife's family to celebrate Passover. They are Jewish; we are not. Also, the new wife just has nephews - all under the age of 8. My younger DD DOES NOT want to go and I can't really blame her. There's just nothing appealing about this trip to her at all and she still struggles with the whole concept of this new "step-family" she barely knows. IMO - this isn't the way for my girls to get to know them all, but I can't tell the ex that he can't take his daughters away for a few days.

And, if they do go, I'm going to need to be medicated. I can't stand the idea of my girls getting on a plane without me. Whenever we travel together, I always think, god forbid, if something happens, at least we're all together. Now they'll be flying somewhere w/out me - :sad2: I'm putting up a good front for now; but I will be very sad and worried the day they leave. :sad1:

I hate this situation! Thanks for listening; I'm going to the gym to work off some frustration.

So sorry you have to deal with this. I think that way when flying, too. I know they will be fine. How does your ex do taking care of your oldest? Does his DW know how?

I really feel for you!!!! I would feel exactly the same and the loss of control would send me sky rocketing!!! Vent away and smart of you to go exercise!

I'll get ready to start up a new one but I always wondered if we were in the right place at the Family forum. Should we move to the community forum or would people like Sewer and Keahi never find us again????:confused3 Thoughts?

Great advice!!! ITA!

My timer went off...Dis time over....gotta go....................

I will definitely shoot for tonight at 8 but now I am going to DDs school for a luau and might not be back until later then 8.

Did everyone get my email with the Live365 link?

Thanks for the live365! It is really fun! I am going to get the monorail message memorized in all of the languages! :thumbsup2

Thanks Kara & Debbie. I know you're both right. It's the anticipation of the them being away that gets me all teary; but I know once they've left, I will probably enjoy the "me" time. And you hit the nail right on the head, Debbie, about that "loss of control" feeling I got immediately after my ex told me what he wanted to do. I know it's not healthy to feel that way - I am getting better about it! Now, I have to figure out what I'm going to do with myself! That mani, pedi, and massage sounded good, Kara!

I don't want to offend anybody ..... but there are some crazy people over on that community board! I know we're pretty crazy here, but I've seen worse over there!:lmao: I like us here in the Disney for Families board: we're all moms and I think the family board is where other new moms would find us easier. Besides, we'd go two hours without someone posting here, and our thread would wind up on page 4 on the community board. Just too much going on over there. But I would follow wherever you lead us, Debbie! JMHO.

I totally agree!

Another major meltdown - I just feel so totally out of control. As soon as I sweep and mop the floors, there goes the dog making a mess on it! And DH vacuumed last night and steam cleaned some spots, which the dog just insisted upon peeing on! I'm soooo tired of it all!

I so do NOT want the inlaws here this weekend, I just want to sulk. Ever have those days? I've yelled at DD so much today, poor thing! I have had to apologize up and down all morning. DH just doesn't know what to do with me. I wonder if it IS that stop smoking medicine that I'm weaning off of? :confused3 Whatever it is, it's making me a crazy, hormonal witch!

Then to top it ALL off - my 3rd AT&T cell phone is giving me trouble. So I call and spend 40 minutes on the phone with some dude who goes through all the same stuff I've done twice before. Face it, this is a crappy phone that doesn't get reception here. So I finally lost it with him and told him to skip all the formalities and just send me a new phone!!! Poor guy, I think I scared him, too! :rotfl2:

Tonight will be good for me I think. Although our pool is opening today and the family cookout and pool party is tonight. It starts at 6pm so there's no reason that I won't be back by 9 - well, except that they have free beer! hic! So I might make it back and straight to bed! Hope not, I look forward to posting!

Later!

You go girl! Don't let those cell phone people get the best of you! :lmao:

Good Morning just checking in My Chaos is starting. I have 3 Days left and I have been out everyday getting "Just one more thing" Yesterday was the search for sunglasses. I thought I would post a few pictures it was just too funny.

He Sat in this suitcase for half an hour. I think he is ready for the trip:rotfl:
100_0038.jpg
100_0037.jpg

So cute! Thanks for sharing - looks like he is checking to see if you remembered everything! Take a deep breath - if you do forget something other than tickets and ID, you will either be okay without it, or you can find it there!

Yeah, I get the really vivid dreams, too. Some have been downright terrifying! No nausea, luckily, but I do have trouble falling asleep and usually end up upstairs in the guest room with a book until midnight or so, then up at 6:30. Not good because I really NEED my 8 hours! So I usually end up napping for a couple of hours on Saturday and/or Sunday and that usually does it for me. But I didn't read the side effects (intentionally, so I didn't suddenly come up with them!) until a couple of weeks ago, and I realized the dreams, but also said can cause depression, anxiety, all the junk I seem to have now. I've been off it now for a couple of days, so hopefully I'll start to see some signs of normalcy and feel better.

I do feel like I can function on less sleep now that I'm not smoking. And food tastes sooo much better, which is not a good thing when you're trying to lose weight!

Congratulations on quitting! :goodvibes

Thanks Laura. It's comforting to know we all kind of feel the same way. I was kind of feeling like an overly-protective, neurotic mother. Now I'm thinking, no- just normal. Anyway, what are we all going to do when are kids go away to college?:sad1:

Ok - first of all, you need a  . Secondly, I say -- stick some of those free beers up your shirt and sneak away from your pool party and come hang with us tonite!

I feel for you, Kara. To be feeling the way you're feeling and then having to deal with in-laws in your house - UGH! Seriously, I'm going to say it again, but this is where medication could come in handy for you!

Well, I went out searching for the FusionX - couldn't find it. So I bought a bottle of Hpnotiq - a "exquisite blend of premium vodka, fine cognac, and natural tropical fruit juices". Sounds similiar, except this is a very pretty blue color. (I'm sure this does NOT look pretty coming back up - if you catch my drift!:rolleyes1 ) Anyway, that's what I'll be trying. I'll let you know how it tastes - LIVE ..... as I'm tasting it!

BTW - your son is adorable! And those eyes - he must have you in the palm of his hands!;)

THAT's what I had at the lake last Summer - I was trying to remember what it was called - Debbie's Pink Drink reminded me.... How did you like it? Maybe I'll see on the next 9 pages popcorn::

Well in Rome it's 8:30 and they have been drinking since noon so I say go for it it's friday after all

Umm yeh is gone 5 here :rotfl2:

Only if the night turns out as planned! :rotfl2: You'll know if all you see is jflkad;;;;;;;;;jfa;naf;doivhthoweiewnenovh0a[in'offffffffffffffff. That is a sure sign that I'm passed out on my keyboard! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Listen........... who saw Trace Adkins singing that new song on the Apprentice finale!! I was crying like a baby!!!!

I didn't, but did you see we get a Tim McGraw concert at the convention?
:cloud9:

Hiya all - another boozy night I see!!

Well, will catch up with the chatty stuff later.....

Cammie - what a dilemma to have - I would also hate ANYONE to take my kids away without me - especially on a plane, but don't see any way round it - you are right - kids have to spend time at their dad's - I guess you have to grow a shell that makes it "matter" less... remember kids will worry just as much about how mummy is going to cope on her own, need to make them feel positive about that.........

Well, we picked up our tickets :woohoo:. Makes the whole thing seem real.... But of course brings another set of problems - will have to rethink the schedule!! Last time we went they gave us actual park tickets to take - this time it's a voucher to exchange at the ticket booth. Our first Disney day was planned to be the earliest ADR at Epcot princess storybook, we need the tickets to get in - and if the ticket booths don't open VERY early, we will miss it..... So will have to jiggle things about, my inner worry wart will not allow us to turn up and hope on the day, so will need to do another disney day before hand....:goodvibes

Anyhow - off to re-plan..... I do like this bit best...

Tessa

I'm a little lost should i be somewhere else? Is the chat gonna be here or elsewhere? Hmm little confused :confused3

:rotfl2: You were lost and you started without everyone!

Hahahahah Lemsip is ... hmm how to explain it ... it's a drink for when you have flu like symptoms it contains paracetemol .. you add hot water and it's lemon flavoured but really helps

Yeh i never had to get that far DD hasn't seen her dad since she was 3 .. her and i are very close and i do dread when she leaves home .. thank goodness i have her for a bit longer

We have something like the Lemsip here called TheraFlu!

Kara - I think we hate you even more now!;)[/quote]

Do we love to hate her, or hate to love her??? :grouphug:

I will check the beds like I always do. I don't want to bring those nasty things home with me.

Whats worse is we use to call him Loukie Badookie and then it got too much to say.

Those beds do bite and give you rashes. We moved into a furnished apartment for a little while when I was a little girl and I got bit! :scared1: My mom just about had a heart attack when she found the bugs!

WTH? Totally spelled that wrong!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Didn't follow my diet very well tonight, nor did I get my 30-45 minutes of alone exercise time today. They had those big fat hot dogs that I loooove! And of course desserts out the ying yang! Then they set up a humongous screen right in front of the pool and showed the "Nanny Diaries" (is that the right name) and called it the Dive In Movie. We have a great big field in front of the clubhouse and once a month they have a Movie on the Green and only show PG or G movies. Some people ride up in their golf carts, they sell popcorn, and eveyone just camps out on the green. Lots of fun. Then in the summer they have Chick Flick Night on a Thursday and show movies like Dirty Dancing, Sleepless in Seattle, etc. I haven't hit a chick flick night yet.

I want to live at your house! ;)

....and I beat you by a degree in the temp department!:guilty:

It was 29 here lat night too. I still can't get the weather ticker. I just get the words. I tried using the little mountain trick, too! :confused3

You need to feel better, real soon!

Don't beat yourself up over the potential crowds. It is what it is. You'll still have a wonderful time with your DS; don't stress if you don't get to do everything. You'll just have an excuse to go back!

Thanks. Good point!

Tessa
I'm sure it will be fine. It will just take some jiggling as you said.

Sorry I didn't get to join all the Darth Boozers last night. DH had to work. :confused3 Anyway, I'm feeling some better today. Had a nice pedi, but it is raining and cold. Such a shame. I'm starting to get excited finally I think. Dropped DD to 1 feeding at night today. Not so bad so far. She's getting into that Mommy attachment stage, so that stinks. This morning she cried when I left and made me really feel bad about leaving soon.

Question from a non-flyer. In that one quart bag you take your liquids in on your carry-on. Do they have to be labeled as to what their contents are? Or can you just use little bottles and put in whatever you want.

Second question - if you are arriving at MCO in the AM, would you still pack a carryon (keep in mind I will have DS, a backpack, a DVD bag and a umbrella stroller regardless)? We are staying at the AS and it is sold out, so bags might take a while. Now, I'm thinking I should def do a carryon....

Hope everyone is doing well. sorry I missed you all last night. BUT I did have a dream I was chatting with you all last night1 :lmao: STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER ! :lmao:

Hey, since all you seem to be at WDW every chance you get - has anyone gotten picked for a magical moment?

"And then at band camp..." I sware I feel like that is so me with you guys and all the questions. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hahahahaha that really made me chuckle i swear i have those sorts of dreams too :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is good today and having a nice saturday .. i've had a great day, went sale shopping :woohoo: for holiday clothes and then lazed at my friends house whilst kids played ... I hate housework and i REALLY need to do some because as much as i can't stand doing it i can't go away and leave it so guess i have to do it, yuck

Hi guys - quick stop to check in. Busy day today. Picked up younger DD from sleepover then took both my girls plus friends to the mall. Me and 4 middle school girls - Yikes! They were bathing suit shopping. Three of them crammed into one dressing room and tried on bikinis. Oh - to be young again and wear a bikini!

So sorry you have to deal with this. I think that way when flying, too. I know they will be fine. How does your ex do taking care of your oldest? Does his DW know how?

My ex is very good with DD's care; not so good with her therapies though. You know, it's extra work and he can't be bothered. Since my DDs are only with him about 6 days a month, it's one of the things I've learned to let go of. Besides, I usually cut back on her threrapies on the weekends anyway. Now, as for his wifey - supposedly she knows what to do, but yet ex will never leave her alone with her. Whenever he has a meeting and won't be home, he tells me I have to take her. I'm not going to make a fuss about it, because I told myself I will never, ever, ever complain about having my girls with me - even when he's supposed to have them.

THAT's what I had at the lake last Summer - I was trying to remember what it was called - Debbie's Pink Drink reminded me.... How did you like it? Maybe I'll see on the next 9 pages popcorn::

It was pretty good. I don't think I made the right drink though. Tried to make a martini and added vodka and sweet & sour mix. I think I'd like to try it with champagne - that sounds good.

You're so right. My poor little one, I know, worries about me all the time. I don't know how to get her to stop. She knows I go out and do things when she's with her dad, but yet I think she still feels bad leaving me. We've become so close - she's such a doll.

Well, we picked up our tickets :woohoo:. Makes the whole thing seem real.... But of course brings another set of problems - will have to rethink the schedule!! Last time we went they gave us actual park tickets to take - this time it's a voucher to exchange at the ticket booth. I think just one of you can go to guest services to pick up the tix. And there's a guest services at DTD - which I'm thinking you can use also. I would call and double check before you go re-arranging anything just yet.

:lmao:

All right, I'm a worry-wart, so I would back a carry-on. You know you could pick up those vacuum-sealed bags used for travel - the ones where you put your clothes in and then suck all the air out so it's now really flat. I bought two at a travel speciality store - was going to try them out for myself in June.

BTW - very funny - we haunt you in your dreams!:rotfl2:

Hey, since all you seem to be at WDW every chance you get - has anyone gotten picked for a magical moment?

NO! What does a girl have to do to get picked? I'm keeping my figures crossed for June.

Wow that would have been fun to be at. I'm sure you are all caught up on the high school gossip.

Gotta love those little kinks that get thrown into your plans. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out

I love it DARTH BOOZERS :rotfl2:

As far as I know--not a big traveler myself--all containers have to be 3 oz or less and fit in 1 qt bag per person. When I flew to Houston my sis had unlabeled bottles and she got thru just fine. If you're worried about something check out Target and Wal-greens sample sections. They have everything under the sun. I am a perpetual worry wort so I would have clean undies and basic necessities in my backpack/carry-on. My bags have been lost a few times. I'm a confessed over packer though. My carry-on sometimes resembles my checked bag

One more thing I forgot to add.

We took DDs to zoo today. DD6 had a major melt down. Didn't want to walk. Said her legs hurt. I am now contemplating bringing a stroller with so we don't have repeat of today. :confused3 Drama is that the only stroller I have is a honking huge Graco baby one. I am thinking of the Mclearan. (sp?)

Back Story -- she was born with spina bifida occulta. Her spinal column was closed but we have had some muscle issues. She was a toe-walker. We had to do casts when she was 4 to correct it. She also has other issues but nothing too severe. Dr mentioned that toe-walking was corrected but can re-appear when she goes thru growth spurt and her muscles will stretch out. Also said it can be painful.

Do I bring one or rent? I'm not sure she even need it. We make it thru the state fair fine every year.

Hey Laura - So sorry for what your DD had to go through. Poor baby!

If it were up to me, I'd rent a stroller. Truthfully, we rented one for our youngest up until she was about 8. Did she really need it? Probably not; but it came in handy when we wanted to get somewhere quickly; or it was nice to have her sit and eat while we walked from one end of the park to another; or we would just use it to hold all of our stuff!

Thanks Cammie. I am leaning towards renting but I am worried that it will be a bother to haul that thing around. Never thought about using it to lug our stuff...oh that could be dangerous. I am an overpacker

Hi Everyone!

Laura, I would rent a stroller - we rented a double last year for my niece and nephew, 7 & 8. They started complaining that their legs hurt the minute we got off the monorail! :rotfl2: It was so much better not to have them complaining and stalling. Although, they fought in there alot, too. We paid $18 for a double, and then if we changed parks, we got a voucher to get another one at the next park, so the $18 was good for all day.

Magical Moments - I don't know if you are asking about a "dream" or something I have missed out on? "one time, at band camp.." We got a dream fast pass last year at AK when we got off EE! It was SO cool! :goodvibes

Actually, the girls at the party were alot of fun! I forgot to mention, that we had a party room reserved at the pizza place - I got all set up with my make-up and skin care...and they came and made us move because they had double booked the room for a wedding rehearsal dinner! At a pizza place. We are country here, so not unusual. :rolleyes1 So anyway, we were moved to an area at the back of the place kind of divided by a brick fireplace, but there was a football team having a party - they were loud. I had to scream at the top of my lungs to be heard, or deliver the same message twice, once at each end of the table! :rotfl2: I was training two new consultants, so they got to see an example of how Arbonne consultants are always positive, and we can accomplish grace under fire in any circumstance - I think we did really well, and 3 girls booked a party, so they must have had fun! :dance3:

BTW - has anyone seen "Redneck Wedding" on CMT? My son turns it on sometimes - it is hilarious - but not too far from what goes on here sometimes! In fact, I would say my SIL's wedding and reception was just about like one of those. ;) check it out sometime if you want a :lmao:

Tessa! I'm so excited you got your tickets! I was thinking there must be a place to get your park tics! I agree with Cammie! Find out before you change your plans - maybe your hotel even does tickets and can exchange your voucher! I know how you feel - we wanted to buy ours at SOG last year with the military price, and we couldn't get the bus to DTD so we could get to SOG - it never came! We couldn't get to SOG the next morning and be at MK for early entry, so we just ended up buying our tickets at the resort - we got a little discount, but it still cost us about $200 more :sad2: Looking back, we weren't really thinking straight - DH started getting upset with the situation and said, "you mean we're going through all of this for $40???" "buy them here!" What he didn't realize, was it was $40 X 5! So just to keep to my PLAN, and because of the bus situation, we spent the extra $$. I could have ordered them at home cheaper if I knew we were doing that. Or, we would have survived starting an hour later, too! :thumbsup2 ;)

Cammie! Glad to hear your DD will be well taken care of, anyway.
I made my Hypnotic with Sprite on ice. I wasn't sure what to do with it - I tried to drink it straight the first time, but it was too sweet.

Hello to all of you other worriers! I've been looking at tax stuff all day - I'm going to take a nap and get back at it! Happy Saturday Night!

Cammie! Glad to hear your DD will be well taken care of, anyway.

Ooh - that sounds good - I love Sprite; will have to try it!
